  1. Chill, Rolen is still a power hitter. Last time I checked he's been hitting behind Pujols.
  2. Wow, the overreaction is rampant. I've noticed everything I say will happen never does, so I'm trying my best to change the situation, what have you done? LOL, I'm just trying not to freak out.
  3. Distal radial and distal ulna fractures. 6 weeks in cast.
  4. G-d I hate The Score but I listen anyway... They love to get fans in panic mode.
  5. If it is true the Cubs will have to make due. The pitching (particularly the bullpen) has been carrying this team. The Score is reporting that DLee is being put in a cast. More news is coming in 10 minutes. Jesse Rogers says he just spoke to Hendry.
  6. If all this is true, season over. That's just too much to overcome. Not even the Cards could get through their best hitter plus two of their best four pitchers going down by mid-April. Not so fast, the pitchers are coming back next month. I'm not willing to scrap the season. The Cubs aren't just going to roll over plus, they have a relatively soft schedule until June (except for a couple of different series here or there)
  7. I saw that on Chicago Tribune Live too but nothing is official from the team. Hopefully, the time frame is an overestimation.
  8. No, I doubt seriously that the Cubs would ever consider having Palmerio back on the team. Are any of the guys on the team today married to any tramps? Okay, so that's a trick question. Raffy in the clubhouse would be a bad idea. Forgive me but I don't get the joke. Was he involved with a trashy woman? Pretty sure he's referring to Raffy getting with Sandberg's wife? Ah! I forgot about that.

  11. Dusty was his usual idiotic self for putting Aardsma into a high pressure situation in a tie game for his first outing. Never should have happened when we had Howry, Eyre, and Williamson. It's a no win for Dusty. He's roasted if he sits the guy for an extended period or if he puts him in the fire (unless, of course, Dave does his job and gets the outs). It seemed safe to ask Aardsma to work a scoreless inning considering the way he had been pitching leading up to the appearance. You're making it appear that there are only two choices. To throw him into the fire in his second game up in a tie game, or sit him for an extended period of time and let him rust away. Now although we have no way of knowing for sure, It is a good bet that there will be a situation in the next 3 games where we are either winning by 3 or more runs or losing by several which IMO would have been a more appropriate time for his first duty, especially considering the studs we have in the Pen right now. Even if Aardsma would have gotten out of that inning, I still would have been highly critical of that move. I probably was a little harsh with my initial viewpoint because in general Dusty has done a better job (albeit in 3 weeks) of managing the pitching staff than he has in the past. That's my point exactly. Why make him wait for an appearance within the next 3 days (especially with an off day today) when you can get him into a game and keep him sharp? He was closing in AAA and pitching on a regular basis. If anything, Dusty was showing confidence in Aardsma by calling on him in the 6th. He could have called upon Novoa (who was throwing in the pen) until Williamson, Howry, or Eyre were needed later in the game. Because I don't want him blowing it like almost did yesterday.....? I think it's safe to say you don't ever want him walking the first two batters he faces (no matter the in-game situation). I'm willing to give Aardsma the benefit of the doubt however, I have no problem with a manager expecting a member of his bullpen to be ready to pitch. He took Wuertz's spot on the roster so it makes sense to me that he got the call in the 6th inning...It's not like he has no prior ML experience. Plus, he had been pitching well leading up to lastnight (albeit in AAA).

  13. I don't know what the **** you're talking about. :fume: LOL, he's talking about the Cubs season being trashed because DLee is hurt. Since the 2006 Cubs won't be winning the Central obviously, some other team will. I don't buy it. It's too early to panic. This team might win inspite of it's less than spectacular lineup. Anyway, we still need to find out if Lee will be out an extended time.

  15. And of course, we don't get to play KC even though we're playing the AL central this year...no....we get to play the white sox 6 times... Isn't one 3 game series a year against them enough? Not to mention the Indians. Those will be tough games.
  16. Yes, last season he was in the booth with Len and Bob and he mentioned that he'd love to own the Cubs.
  17. When Dempster gave him a close shave he grounded out meekly. I'm for walking him; He's one hit away from 1,000.
  18. Well, the "old guy" just homered in his first at bat. Consider the pitcher. Santos wouldn't make most ML rosters.
  19. Lowe killed us last year also. I think we'll get to Penny tonight and big. Cubs win this one big 8-3! ARAM and Lee are going yard tonight! Book it! The Cubs got him last year. I think Neifi hit a 2 run homer in the first inning (which is probably why he started last night) and Lowe went into the dugout and cut his finger while pounding a chair. The Cubs won that game (swept the series).
  20. I refuse to get excited over this development. LOL
