  1. This Hudson isn't throwing strikes. Guys are swinging at the curve well off the plate.
  2. Ok, let's get this run home from 3rd.
  3. Nice back hand deep at short to throw out the runner
  4. No, he has slipped in recent games. He was hitting well over .400 in those spots but I saw last night the average is now around .390. Good but not what we expected. He just needed a fly ball there.
  5. JHJ with a double down the left field line
  6. Dusty going to the Don Baylor school of "cooling the hot hand". Someone please tell me why Hendry bothered calling up Cedeno, knowing Dusty's man-love for Neifi? He's the only backup SS. Macias is the backup 3rd baseman...
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/transactions Is it just me or does it seem like more duys are being designated for assignment this year?
  8. Jim Hendry will be on the Score soon. Check it out if you're local or on the net at 670thescore.com
  9. LOL, yeah right...
  10. I disagree, Hendry got a pretty establish major league guy for Dubois who is still considered a prospect. The Indians don't know what they are getting (but because they have the DH Dubois will have the opportunity it hit). Agree with you. While I love Doobie, I wouldn't say he's considered a prospect at this point...more of a AAAA guy who can't play the OF in MLB. He could prove me wrong, especially now that he can DH and maybe get a turn at 1B once in a while. Gerut is only a year and a half older than Dubois, and Jason's value as a 1B/DH is far less than it was if he could've played LF. Seemed clear Dubois had no future with the Cubs, so getting a decent player for him is a quality move, IMO. While he does seem very Hollandsworth-ish, Gerut is a better option than Dubois or Grieve. It does make some sense that this move could lead to another - but I have a hunch Murton is more likely to be traded than Gerut. I think the odds are long against it leading to Dunn or even Kearns, but we can keep hoping. BTW, reading the official Indians board, the first few posts say that Dubois can play 3B, SS, and OF, and another said that he was platooning in LF with Patterson. I hear what you're saying but Dubois only started in 20 games this year (just heard this on the radio so I assume its correct) so if my memory is right he has about 22-25 MLB games under his belt as a starter. That sounds like a prospect to me...
  11. Derrek Lee's first full season: AVG/OBP/SLG/OPS .233/.318/.414/.732 What a pathetic loser. For EVERY derrek Lee you pull out, I could pull out 10 that didn't turn into him. At least 10 probably a larger ratio. I don't doubt that. The point is that Dubois' career, or his shot in the bigs, is hardly over. He still has the potential to turn into an impact bat. Stupid online sports debates. :D no you are right, Dubois could very well turn into an impact player, but I don't see it happeneing in the near future. Hell, I could be wrong, I could be right. Let's just wait to see what happens, before judging this trade. LOL, exactly, he could turn out to be rookie of the year next year and still not be good longterm (see Hollandsworth, former rookie of the year).
  12. Derrek Lee's first full season: AVG/OBP/SLG/OPS .233/.318/.414/.732 What a pathetic loser. Yes but Derrek Lee is 29 (soon to be 30) We dont have 5 years for Dubois to develop. Wish him good luck. He will develop on a team that's rebuilding.
  13. I disagree, Hendry got a pretty establish major league guy for Dubois who is still considered a prospect. The Indians don't know what they are getting (but because they have the DH Dubois will have the opportunity it hit).
  14. Ramirez was 3 years younger than Gerut when we got him, and his bad year had more to do with a badly sprained ankle that messed his swing up than a 3 year decline in power. Well I'm reserving judgment until he comes and starts hitting. I think it's not likely that they spin Gerut off in another trade. More likley to send one of the current guys (Grieve/Holla) away. Agreed, especially considering Hendry's comments. Sounds like Jody will be a Cubs outfielder and not traded which means somebody is most likely going: "We like the fact that he's a left-handed hitter," Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said in Cincinnati, following Chicago's 9-4 victory over the Reds. "He's an above-average defensive player. He's more suited to play either corner, but he can play center. He's a guy who could help this club down the stretch."
  15. Okay, back to my theory i brought up a couple minutes ago, only revise it. Maybe cincy wants Hollandsworth, but first, Hendry wanted to get someone to replace him.....still. Couldnt dubois have done that. <--------- wants dunn. Apparently not. Hendry feels Dubois' future is as a DH--he's probably right: "Jason's a guy who has power potential," Hendry said. "All of us felt he might be better suited to the other league." http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2111055
  16. There's got to be something else going on. Why would the Cubs need two left handed left fielders? Seems like something else is going to happen.
  17. Maybe we're all freaking out for nothing. These guys on the Score seem to think this trade is a steal by the Cubs. We'll see...
  18. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Gerut is not completely healed. Dubois is going to play on the big league roster. Tom Hamilton/Indians play by play guy was just on the radio...
  19. I doubt it. The guy is an everyday player. Murton may be on his way back to AA or perhaps Holla is going some where? Someone's going ... Maybe something else is brewing. Edit: Mike Murphy seems to think this guy is an everyday player. i must admit I know very little about him.
