  1. Really? He's 30.
  2. not really fair that the phillies have to play without a first baseman
  3. I will bet you every dollar that I still owe on my student loans that he doesn't start the year with the big club. Theo is not going to get pushed around by [expletive] Boras and be this stupid.
  4. Olivera just signed so does he go on waivers or next year's draft?
  5. Missed a year, but i'm back Stanton Miggy C, EE Goldschmidt, Cespedes, Springer Trumbo, Hanley, Cano, Harper, Castellanos
  6. Agreed. Tim, as acting commish, I'm sure you can make this happen.
  7. I don't think so, which is why I'm not in favor. Though if enough people want to shorten the time after the first 4 rounds or so, that seems fine (though I still think you've got to go 12+ hours to account for time differences). We still have 3+ rounds to go (plus a few prospect draft rounds) and only 10 days. Seems ridiculous that it would take that long, but who knows. Well, it would be good to have some time after the draft to make adjustments to rosters, as well. Plus we still have a minor league draft to run, as well. yeah, I mentioned the prospect draft. Though I don't think that necessarily has to be done by the season opener (ideally it is, but not a huge deal). I emailed Adam again. It's 530 am in Perth, so there's no rush right now anyway. But maybe if we don't hear from Adam by next time truffle logs on to the draft, we autopick for him? I hate to do that to a guy who's been in the league so long, but he's not been around much at all since the start of 2015 and he isn't responding to my emails (not that everyone has to respond to me, but the combo isn't a good sign). We could try to be democratic about it and get a few votes about what he would do here (Dickey isn't a bad pick for him, but he probably needs a second RP too, so maybe Perkins?). Or just let it run the 24 hours and hope we haven't missed Bob. The combination of Adam being slower than usual this year right before and after the Australian has slowed us down quite a bit. Maybe next year we should set up the draft order by geography so we have fewer time zone issues. :)

  9. I just [expletive] love Joe Maddon. I hope he lives forever.
  10. Are we giving Deven like 12 hours? Has anyone heard from him since before his last pick?
  11. Alamo gets my 2nd round prospect pick (#17 overall)
  12. since tim only got 3 of trout's exemptions, it's only fair that he get all 4 of bryant's
  13. not when Bryant finishes with more points than trout this year
  14. i don't want to go to autopick. how about if you don't make your pick within 6 hours, I get your pick?
  15. Maybe it's taking longer than normal. But interest in the league has been down this offseason. There wasn't much trading - almost none that didn't involve you. Very little discussion otherwise. Maybe go to 12 hour periods after the 4th round or something. And make it like the NFL where your pick just gets skipped and you have to slide in whenever you realize you missed your turn. Or maybe we shouldn't even have a draft. My first pick last year was Hunter Pence, who was great, and the only other pick that wasn't outright terrible was Glen Perkins, who was a mediocre-at-best RP. Still won the league. I'd probably do better with autodraft.
  16. This is an overreaction to Adam being slow this year. Seems clear that something is going on with his as he's just not around much. But I don't think it's good to make a change that would penalize a team for bad luck in when their pick comes up.
  17. not in favor
  18. FYI - you need to drop Dan Straily. He's not a minor leaguer - he had 27 starts in 2013. You could put him in the minors if he's in the minors during the season, but he counts as one of your 10 MLB keepers b/c he has exceeded the minors cap (which would give you 11 keepers).
  19. What does Bryce know about being good at baseball
  20. he said our era, gramps
  21. /moved to dead dogs thread
  22. He dropped his player yesterday. I emailed him and he responded and said he'd look into it right away. He's a nice guy, he just doesn't interact with the league at all. Guess that's not entirely unique.
  23. May be time to start looking for a new owner for that team. Not sure he's ever done anything other than somewhat show up for the draft. I'd rather not wait until he drives it totally into the ground.
  24. Has anyone heard from Adam or Brian?
  25. there are times when a league with particularly complex rules puts newbies at a disadvantage and vetoes are appropriate when seasoned managers take advantage of them. not thinking of any league in particular, but I can imagine such a league.
