The worst that happens here is you go back to the front page you have now or another idea. Why would we not do this? I'd put the articles on the backburner, but a front page that looks good and highlights the currently active threads would do wonders.

Not sure what to do with Aloe Vera since he wasn't signed when the draft started. I seem to recall a similar situation last year but I don't remember where we ended up. I think it's dumb to put a 30 year old in the prospect draft, so I'd prefer waivers or next year's draft.

Rondon is application of the very rule I mentioned a second ago. Guerrero was an IFA that was subject to the IFA rule. Before the draft, the commish identifies which ones are eligible for which draft. Tweeners (for lack of a better word) are usually eligible to be drafted in the MLB draft, but you have to keep them in the majors all year. Tim even asked and acknowledged that this rule applied when he drafted him. That's why he had to be kept in the majors all year.

there is no rule that prevents this ok you can bicker over it all you want. the point of the rule is to penalize someone drafting a prospect with no MLB experience in the MLB draft. if that prospect doesn't start the year with the major league team, you lose the player.

Also, Kang since he didn't get picked in the major league draft I thought that someone picked in the minor league draft had to start the season in the minors? Am I incorrect? I've never heard that one. The rule is a player taken in the MLB that has no MLB experience (or isn't one of the IFA's that's designated eligible by the commish) has to start the year with the big club. That's the rule that prevents someone from drafting a prospect with no MLB experience in the MLB draft.

uhhhhh, no you did it wrong. Baez was option, the other two are not on the 40 man roster and were not optioned, they were simply sent to minor league camp. That is why the media phrased it the way they did. jesus h christ rookie mistake. this is why we need megathreads. you guys can't even properly title a thread. in related news, ctcf was optioned to bleedcubbieblue. reached for comment, tim said "he's developed some bad habits, maybe brought on when i promoted him too quickly. hopefully with a little time down there, he'll be able to fix his issues."

not really, bryant to minor league camp was a fait accompli. Baez's situation was in question I think he meant the team's intent, not CT's wording. Give everyone else something else to talk about so the Bryant argument doesn't loop back through the media in full force again. Yep, Theo again demonstrating that he's not a moron. Love it
