Probably given the difference in age, years of control, and cost, i don't see why anyone would make that deal. now that rizzo is immune to strikeouts, it's even more [expletive] crazy.

i don't share brandon's feeling that the thread was necessarily going to be terrible. but when you say "nationality" and mean "ethnicity" then you've asked a very different question. getting angry at people b/c you asked a question poorly doesn't really make sense. and there was only 1 person who said "who cares" when you corrected yourself and asked about his ethnicity. it's sort of a dumb thing to start a discussion about rather than just try to find on google. but it's also not that big of a deal, imo. but if you're going to start a discussion that some people might find somewhat sensitive, you should probably be careful not to start it with the wrong question. and then, if you do ask the wrong question, don't get defensive about the reaction to what was a pretty stupid question with an easy to find answer ("what is a baseball player's nationality"). regardless, i don't see what any of that has to do with this thread. you received 1 response you didn't like ("who cares") and then the thread was locked. if you're unhappy with that, pm brandon or tim.

er... Because of a 14.5 HR/FB% and a high BABIP, Porcello has suffered with a 5.90 ERA; only Kyle Kendrick and Kyle Lohse have given up more runs per nine innings. By a wide margin, Porcello has been the most disappointing pitcher in baseball this season. -
Jesse Rogers says 7 is record for GIDP. We have a variety pack though.

yeah i'm not looking to replace dj. that wasn't the question at all. we need to replace just juan. but i just don't know what to do about using an extra dl spot for 13 weeks. as always, there's teams that are hit hard by the dl and have to drop guys they want to keep or have a bench full of injured guys or whatever. so letting it go without any penalty doesn't seem right. but i'm looking for input on what to do.

your second sentence is just wrong. rarely are people as anonymous online as they think. but specific to nsbb, many (most?) of the people on this forum have eventually become connected in other ways, whether social media, other forums, or fantasy sports leagues. So many of us know some people here outside the forum. Moreover, you linked to a profile of yourself, so you aren't anonymous either. regardless, even if you were anonymous, Thurman makes a great point. When you come into any community, online or not, anonymous or not, you need to figure out how things work and how you fit in. Some people may be able to just barge in and be rockstars, but almost everyone needs to figure stuff out first. finally, i don't think anyone hates you. i shouldn't speak for everyone, I guess, someone might hate you. but i think mostly people are annoyed by some of your habits b/c they remind them of the places they left to come to nsbb. others have had similar rough patches in their history. many of them are gone, but some are still around. it's not impossible to stop annoying the hell out of everyone and have a happier existence here.

also, juan (lynx) has entirely given up. I asked him about his roster and he says he doesn't have time for the league any more. thoughts on what we do with that one? I don't know anyone that might jump in and take a team midseason, but it'd be better for the league if we didn't let the team get totally run into the ground as we have with some other managers (nccubfan, karen, etc). thoughts on this one?

I just noticed that raw has Brad Peacock in the minors. Problem being, Peacock exceeded his minor league eligibility in 2013. So ever since at least Week 2, when raw had Corbin, Pence, and Profar on the DL already, he's had an illegal lineup. Peacock has been on the DL almost all season, but that's effectively given raw 4 DL spots. Thoughts?
