    Canadian dollar is 77 cents now, so if he asks for $30M/per, they'll have to go $39M/per, won't they? (i'm probably in the minority when it comes to my lack of total utter desperation for adding a #1 SP, it's just kind of funny to consider) I'm confused. His contract will be in USD, so he'll have more buying power by being in Canada 81 days a year. why would his contract be in USD if he's employed by a Canadian company? that's how north american sports work. players are paid in greenbacks. When oil is cheap, Canadian teams struggle, when it's expensive, they profit. I don't think this is true. I think Canadian team players are paid in snow and uncomfortably long smiles.

    Does Price really want to pitch in the ALE again? I gotta figure he's going to be getting so much money from so many teams that other factors are going to play into his decision.

    It seems almost impossible for me to imagine us outbidding the Dodgers for Price. The Cubs likely wont have to. in 2016 the Dodgers will have the following Kershaw,Wood,Ryu,Anderson. They aren't going to grab both Price and Greinke just to shove a low 3ERA pitcher like Ryu out the door. The Nationals literally just did this with Tanner Roark like 5 months ago I agree with the larger point that the Dodgers aren't going to let Ryu or Anderson stop them from signing Price. But Roark had a 3.47 FIP and 3.84 xFIP in 2014. (compare Ryu 2.62 FIP and 3.03 xFIP). Not comparable. There's no reason the Dodgers couldn't have Kershaw, Greinke, Price, Wood, Ryu, which would be terrifying.

    I hate how disappointed that makes me Remember when Epstein told Zambrano he wasn't going anywhere? I don't think that's necessarily saying he won't be traded this year. Maddon was just telling him he wasn't getting taken out b/c he was being traded last night.

    FYI - Bob is the only one that hasn't fixed the roster issue from last week. I sent him an email as well, but will need to take points away if it's not corrected. Last week it didn't matter b/c he played Lynx. But after Folty's start today, he'll have 3 pitchers in the minors with 10+ starts in the majors

    I think you'd have to determine wild cards based on points instead of record to make it fair since the schedule will remain unbalanced. I have no problem with changing up divisions. I guess I'm not thinking taking a 5th place team and putting them in the playoffs based on points. It's still a H2H league.

    we should shuffle up the divisions. one of the most active teams in the west is actively trying to lose (which i guess is ok now). lynx has checked out. tuna is basically checked out (if he pays attention last week, he beats tim). raisin is more often checked out than not. even truffle has times where he's not actively monitoring his team for a few days. the east has 1 team trying to lose but everyone paying attention. just paying attention makes such a big difference in this league. another option is have the playoffs be: 1 & 2 in each division; wild cards to the 2 next best teams regardless of division. or: winner of each division gets a bye and the other 4 teams are considered wild cards chosen regardless of division.

    Reminder - our trade deadline mirrors the MLB deadline - July 31. Also, saw a couple roster issues so just did a quick check and sent FYIs to a few teams that have guys in the minors that have exceeded their limits and 1 team with a DL issue. Just wanted to give teams a heads up. Finally, I got no response on what to do with Juan's team and it's a mess. So I took a couple guys off the DL and put them on his bench. His roster is now "illegal" because he has too many guys on his bench. So his team will score 0 points for the rest of the season. (Under normal circumstances, we wouldn't penalize a team for having a roster of 19 but an extra guy on the bench, but I'm doing this so his team doesn't unfairly screw up the competition within that division). I figured that's the most fair way to deal with it - he'll lose against each team in his own division this last time through the schedule.

    lol why wouldnt that surprise me the cards give him a league minimum salary tell him to work on a thing or 2 for 2 weeks in AAA he comes up and becomes the Ejax of old... that wouldnt surprise me one bit The ellipsis here is so weird. If you're going to go with the no punctuation thing, commit to it. lol
