  1. I can't think of a single player this year that everyone has to have on their ballot. Manziel isn't head and shoulders above any of several candidates this year. No one is.
  2. Well I tried to fight against objective measures of SOS but I never thought you'd pull out the teamrankings.com stuff.
  3. The Florida game was the first game of his college career. In the LSU game, 2 of the 3 INT's were not on him. One when right through the hands of his WR and was tipped up for grabs. He also had a 40+ yard TD pass called back because of a stupid & unnecessary chop block. It was the right call but didn't help the receiver score at all. Our kicker missed two FG's and an extra point and we lost by 5 points. He also had 92 yards rushing in the Alabama game. I'm not disagreeing that it's a down year, but Manziel is putting up some crazy stats. He'll pass Cam Newton's yardage total from his Heisman season on Saturday while doing it in less games. He will also finish with better stats than Tebow did in his Heisman season. We've played the toughest schedule and have played 3 of the top 5 defenses in the country. He broke Archie Manning's single game yardage record and then broke his own record a few weeks later. We are 9-2 and favored by 22 points in our last game this Saturday. Did anyone here expect us to win more than 6 games? As long as we don't count any bad passes that receivers still caught and then add INTs that were dropped by defenders, we can give him credit for all that crap up there.
  4. Read this somewhere about Manziel in his 3 biggest games this year: Florida at TAMU - 23/30 for 177 yards with 0 TDs 0 INTs in a 20-17 loss. LSU at TAMU - 29/56 for 276 yards with 0 TDs 3 INTs in a 24-19 loss. Alabama @Tuscaloosa - 24/31 for 253 yards with 2 TDs 0 INTs in a 29-24 win.
  5. Only amazing bc they lost to Ohio and UVA. Big x is pathetic this year. Has PSU beat a good team yet? The analyst who said that is stupid. It's not an interesting theory. It's just dumb.
  6. i [expletive] love Brian Cook Weird yeah we know you're more of an Ace Williams/MF Jones kind of guy Have to give him credit for his understanding of ND's reaction to the big ten move-laughter and appreciation.
  7. A sad day for the rest of the Pac-12. But Haden is sticking with Kiffy, so it's not all bad.
  8. Gotta give Delaney credit. I did not see him adding the Yankees to the big ten.
  9. "@suss2hyphens: If college realignment were a board game, it'd be called Drunk Risk."
  10. I mean the actual states of Iowa and Indiana Without Iowa, we can finally allow MN and the barren Dakotas join Canada.
  11. 9 conference games and drop ND for those that had them on the schedule. Haha. You're pathetic man. You're the one that thinks Delaney's only goal in life is to get revenge against ND. Weirdo No, no I do not. I don't care about Delaney other than I'm an Iowa fan that doesn't care for the direction he's leading the big x. My only comments about ND and the big x were to dispute that ND had some interest in joining or would consider it. Of the several posters that have mentioned ND since the Maryland story broke, I am not one of them. You, not surprisingly, bring up ND constantly.
  12. You almost have to go to 9 conf games. And with the dilution of football in the conf, the OOC slate may have to be pretty strong (assuming SOS actually counts, as it's supposed to, for the playoffs). I don't think the big x gets the perception benefit the SEC enjoys. Everyone thinks every team in the SEC plays murderer's row in conf play. But if you're one of the great teams, like Bama, you may only have 2 other good teams in your division. But people see Florida, LSU, Georgia, USC and Bama all in the top 10 and give all SEC teams credit for a hard schedule w/o thinking about who plays whom. I don't think the big x will have that benefit.

  15. Only the football players. Well, the minority ones.

  17. But that's the heart of my question. Is it just bc UM fans in NYC can't see UM games on the btn and they're going to tune in for the UM v App St rematch that isn't available to them on any of the channels that carries cfb on Saturday? Do they need a "local" team in order to get the btn into TV package? If that's the case, I see it from a financial perspective. I still don't like it overall. It's that UM fans alone (or UM and PSU fans together) aren't enough to get the cable companies to add BTN. Add in Rutgers and you have a fighting chance at saturation. This was always one of the most important points in favor of ND, was getting into the NYC market. Rutgers doesn't need to have a dominant share of the NYC fanbase, it just needs to make enough of a further dent to force the cable companies' hands. Huh. I guess I hope Delaney already has some info that the providers are going to be swayed. Otherwise you've just diluted the conf for nothing.
  18. Wait, before this, PSU and Illinois were the only teams in the Leaders division? Why are you mentioning PSU?

  20. Is the plan that you just get the btn on TVs in NYC and NJ and people will watch big x games that they wouldn't have otherwise watched? Or you just want the initial contract to add the btn to those providers and then who cares if people in NYC actually watch Illinois and Purdue in softball? In other words, is the school just the footprint you need to get the btn into a geographic area? If so, it doesn't matter to the big x if the school has fans in that area, right?
  21. A friend of mine suggested Colorado and Cal as fitting the mold
  22. Is there anything to the rumor that the big x added Maryland so it had an excuse to rename its divisions?
  23. Hahaha. The rare QB sneak on 1st down b/c you didn't realize you converted on 3rd down. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/1751185/huskies1_medium.gif
  24. Yeah if there's one thing you never see, it's people taking random little shots at ND and its fans whether based in reality or not. How smug of those fans to respond. Take UMFan who has absolutely no idea what was discussed in last week's thread but pipes up to make up things to attribute to fans of "mighty" ND. You understand that's part of being a blueblood program, right? I do. Why the F are you acting as if ND fans are smug for responding to the peanut gallery BS?
