They would be ranked higher if they were eligible. They had 3 common opponents as ND and played them about the same as ND. They lack a signature win like Stanford. But I think OSU would most certainly be in the Title Game mix if they were eligible. In the only poll they're eligible for, they're 4th, and their computer average (if it counted) is 10th. They wouldn't be in the NC game. How many writers aren't voting for OSU b/c of ineligibility for the postseason? Unless you know that, you don't know where they'd be ranked. I don't care how terrible the big x has been this year, an undefeated OSU doesn't finish 4th or 5th, behind multiple 1-loss teams, if they're bowl-eligible. If they played in and won the first big x title game, they'd be in the BCS title game.

By this standard, A) no one is allowed to become a college sports fan until age 18, or B) everyone who picks a team must go to that college regardless of academics, finances or majors or their fandom is invalid. Please kill this stupid topic of whining and bitching forever. i'm not saying that nobody should root for notre dame, but generally people root for a college team because they attended that school, their parents attended it, or they grew up near it. nobody from arizona or nevada is becoming a rutgers fan just for the hell of it. yet i have loads of friends from south jersey who went to college somewhere in the east, then settled back in the philly area, and they're notre dame fans. though it is fun to see how easy it is to rile up you and GR even on a night when your team made the national championship game. Who's riled up? The only time I've been riled up tonight was when Kelly went empty backfield again on the last drive.

Calm down killer, the game was over at that point. Laughing at the punter who literally threw his own legs out from under himself is the appropriate course of action on that play, regardless of affiliation. I'm calm, pookey. I just don't know what's become of you.

He is the only punter that drops when his leg gets hit. He held his leg out like an extra 2 seconds waiting for contact and then he was only sort of hit in the kicking leg. I love soccer; I know a good dive when I see it. He was clearly run into. He tried to sold it to not effect. Good thing to focus on. Huge deal in this game.

I'm not sure there was ever a more predictable collapse than the one Arkansas has made since naming John L the interim head coach. I can't figure out how they thought that was a good move. No offense. Tenn is better that a lot of CFB gigs. But I can't think of a single thing about Tenn that's better than the gig Stoops has.

I guess that can be interpreted different ways. The English language interprets that as "I am voting for Manziel." You know that and I know that, but I highly doubt that an idiot sportscaster meant that when he tweeted that statement. Maybe the writer won't consider casting a heisman vote for a guy that spent a night in jail in June.

I can't think of a single player this year that everyone has to have on their ballot. Manziel isn't head and shoulders above any of several candidates this year. No one is. OK, but he specifically said he wouldn't even consider it. Give me a good reason why you won't even consider the player who many believe to be the current front runner. The team is 9-2 and in the BCS top 10, so it's not like he's on a mediocre team. His offensive stats compare favorably to any other QB in the nation. He beat the #1 team in the country in their stadium. You can make a legitimate argument why someone else is a better candidate. Maybe even that he isn't in the top 3. But to not even consider him is foolish and unexplainable. Did he say he wouldn't consider it? I thought he said he wasn't voting for Manziel. Maybe he's already considered the field and doesn't think Manziel measures up. As for going against the popular opinion, that opinion all but crowned Klein Heisman about 5 days ago. How many ballots is he on now? Top 10 BCS team. Comparable stats. Etc etc.
