  1. As I sit here watching the post game, drinking an amazing beer (BCS Regal Rye), with an amazing lady waiting for me to come to bed, having just watched the most amazing Cubs team of my lifetime finally break through, I feel so lucky to have just watched that game and at the same time feel so, I'm not even sure what the words should be, for all the people I've known who never got to see this. I went to a Cubs Reds game on the day my grandfather passed away in the last week of the 2004 season and wish more than anything that he could be here to see it. I'll see you all on Sunday. I'll be damned if I'm missing out on another party like tonight.
  2. Once upon a time, WGN broadcast 150 Cub games a year. I spent a lot of summers from 1983-1990 tuned in. Same here and exact same era. I Fell in love with the game of baseball, Wrigley field and the Chicago Cubs in 1984 as a 5 year old. I would come home from school and watch Cubs play day games on WGN. The team, the uniforms, the broadcast, even the spirit of 76 commercials... extremely sentimental. I'm so freaking emotional right now. I turned 8 that summer. I watched every damn day and knew that team like the back of my hand. I've been all in ever since.
  3. Damn. Just let him finish it. He'll have an extra day before his next start anyway.
  4. I've always wondered why a guy who is supposedly such a great athlete looks so damn jerky jerky at everything he does.
  5. Man, that pickoff play wasn't even close. He was out by a mile.
  6. Probably asking if he called a tag or out of the baseline.
  7. I have plenty of beer and a Regal Rye chilling for post game celebrating. I really want to drink that beer tonight.
  8. You jerk! I decided to stay home today but if I'd had a ticket it wouldn't have been a question. Sorry dude. Third ticket opened up unexpectedly today No problem. Being 4+ hours away sucks.
  9. You jerk! I decided to stay home today but if I'd had a ticket it wouldn't have been a question.
  10. Well that's terrifying.
  11. I make a chicken cacciatorre using bone in skin on thighs so the meat doesn't get all dried out. Pretty tasty.
  12. Just sent you a PM
  13. If there's anything I've taken away about the Dodgers from this series, it's that Adrian Gonzalez seems like a bit of an asshat. I saw that article and thought the same thing. No wonder Boston shipped him out. Seems like a total douche canoe.
  14. What's this [expletive] on WSI about Theo's ethics?
  15. Alright gents, I'm going to need a decision on this soon so I can make arrangements to head up tomorrow.
  16. Gah. I'm seriously considering driving up for it. And if they get there, I'll definitely be up for game 5 of the World Series.
  17. Or Lester Dodgers fans gotta be Dodgers fans, as the stadium is no half empty Addy has a strong case as well. I mean, the 2 HRs are great, but until yesterday he'd been awful and Javy has killed it the whole series, so no.
  18. Looked like he jammed his ankle a little. No twist or anything so I'm not surprised he stayed in. And holy horsefeathers, if he starts going the other way with the increased discipline, he'll be a glorious monster.
  19. OK, I have to admit I kind of enjoyed that Buck call right there of killing them softly this inning.
  20. KB dong would be mighty nice here.
  21. Man, that could not have been more perfectly executed.
