  1. Yeah, I'd be really pleased if the Cubs did that.
  2. There will be guys out there for the 11th+ I thought slot money was for 1-10 rounds. Anything over $100K in the 11th or later counts against your total pool money.
  3. Interesting. Going after the low mileage arm. Anybody know what he throws?
  4. There aren't any advantages any more. I mean, yeah, you can still way overpay for guys when they become FA, but it's hard to get good players when you can't pick high and you can't overpay for amateurs. Pfft, yeah, you can still get major leaguers, but who wants them? If you can't pay Shawon Dunston Jr. $1m, then there's not really any advantage at all... You're bad at arguing about what the argument is actually about.
  5. Also the White Sox are a bit over .500. Please tell me the Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox are all battling for last place. Close, but not quite that bad.

  7. These competitive balance picks are such BS with the new draft rules. I'd have been ok with hard slots or picks, but both is just ridiculous.
  8. If the Royals can hold the lead on St. Louis, we'll end the day 6.5 out of the playoffs. Just sayin' How is that even possible? Seriously, [expletive] numbers. They have completely broken me. The Cards will only be 1 game over .500 if they lose tonight.
  9. Has anybody taken the top of the draft TJS guy yet? Hoffman maybe?
  10. Seriously, you're magic! Now say something disparaging about Schierholtz. 1-for-5 with a triple isn't exactly changing his trajectory. Right, but the 1 came after you called him out, so I'm taking that as a win. Ramirez looking nasty tonight.
  11. The throw was muffed by the 3B and the P was backing up home. Didn't quite get far enough away for him to make it home.
  12. It was close enough that I was ok with it since there were 2 outs. Maybe not the best decision with Rizzo up next, but far from the worst decision I've seen him make.

  14. Man, he got bad in a big hurry. That's Daytona right?
  15. you do understand that they go under-slot at this point so that they can go over-slot later in the draft, right? Yes, I do understand that. And no need to be passive-aggressive. if you want to call me an idiot for not liking this pick, just call me one. Well, that would be against the board rules, so let's just call it an uneducated opinion.
  16. Yeah, with all the carnage on the pitcher front I'm really preferring this strategy unless there's a sure thing like Prior or Strasburg.
  17. Shark needs to take lessons from Wood. No run support? F you Jobu, I do it myself.
  18. if you want a good future relief pitcher Would you have said the same thing after the Cards drafted Wacha?
  19. it may have more to do with playing San Diego 4 times(2-2) and the Mets(2-0). Prior that 17 games they had just gone 1-5 vs STL/ATL. This is a team with good pitching and very, very streaky players. When we lose we will keep it close, when our offense rolls, we win by a lot, but that simply doesn't happen often enough. We have Rizzo and Valbuena above .800 ops, and then Castro is above .700 and no other regulars above .700- That's just not a potential .500 team. Something something run environment.
  20. awwwwww [expletive] no I was thinking that was the guy from App St. and you certainly confirmed it for me.
  21. That whole admitting to being addicted to pot probably deflates the value a bit.
  22. I may be way off base but this made my heart sink a little, because I was hoping for at least one guy who could start or play in the OF or C next season. This makes me re-rethink when they plan on being competitive. Am I wrong? I don't see why getting a pick would be any different than getting a high ceiling, high risk minor leaguer as part of a deal, they just have more control over who that guy is. I don't see it as having any relevance to when they're going to be competitive one way or the other.
  23. The download has nothing to do with it because it wasn't coming from EA, but yeah, the fact that the Duke PG just happened to have the same skillset as their PG that year along with his physical features, uhhh yeah, you're selling that guy's image. And to Derwood, the guys on those covers were always guys who were done with their NCAA eligibility one way or another. Oh yeah, I know, it was just another point in their favor that the guys on the game actually matched the guys on the teams.
