Walker was bad, but not stupid. Walker made physical mistakes, not mental ones. Physical mistakes are okay from time to time. Mental mistakes are inexcusable (see Moises Alou's baserunning last year).

I'm in on this. I'm going to blame Hendry for every day after last night that Dusty continues to "manage" this team.

And, even if you end up walking Eckstein, you still have a chance to get out of the inning. Dusty gave them no chance to win last night. If I were Z or Prior, I'd demand a trade. What a joke that Z goes 9 innings and gives up one run, and doesn't get a win. Also, anyone care to bet that, if St. Louis had started a lefty and MURTON would have started, and then they had brought in a righty reliever, HOLLANDSWORTH would have pinch-hit for HIM? Anyone want to take me up on that? I think I need to stop watching this team until Dusty gets his pink slip. Last night may be the straw that broke my back. GET OFF YOUR DUFF AND CAN HIM, JIM.

I think it helps having the 1-2 guys actually get on base in front of the big hitters. Hairston and Walker were right in the middle of most the scoring the last three games, it seemed.

I would have killed for Gardenhire. He, Cox, and Scoscia, IMO, are the three best in baseball right now.

I'm pretty sure Lieber wasn't a Cub until 1999. Wood, Trachsel, Tapani, Gonzalez, and Clark were generally the starting five in 1998, right?

Dusty argues and doesn't get ejected in the 6th, even though he should get himself ejected every game in the 1st.

Dusty not pinch-hitting Dubois for Holla against Mercker. I don't understand why Dubois will get pinch-hit for Holla when there's a righty brought in, yet it doesn't work the other way around. Weak. EDIT: Holla did single, so I'll give him credit where credit's due. I just don't understand Dusty's proclivity for only playing percentages when it works in favor of old players.
