  1. Yeah, its working nicely with Z and Bradley Yep, Zambrano's pitching and Bradley's 390+ OBP are the reasons this team sucks. Agreed, trade them both to Houston for Mike Hampton or Brandon Backe and Darin Erstad.
  2. :banghead: Except he doesn't hit .300 and doesn't walk enough and his baserunning is flat out pierreian. Throw in the fact with his bad defense and he's at best a league average SS in a good year. But the cubs need his ecksteiney hustle.
  3. Did Chris Ianetta die in a firey plane crash when I wasn't looking?
  4. Yes please :D but seriously, I overstated theriot is not garbage but he is a mediocrity. A serious contender can't have a mediocrity out there unless they have a really elite player at another position.
  5. Because he's not good? And yes he not the biggest issue with the team currently but he's still the same guy who everyone wanted gone last year and the year before that and it's not like he's gotten markedly better. Hot garbage is...well...still garbage.
  6. Nay, unless you like slow pitch softball unis.
  7. Are the cubs moving Bradley to CF and Fukudome to RF. Even then Young isn't a good enough platoon RF.
  8. Correct This is 50% right. Theriot is cheap. No, Kosuke has a total of 57 ABs vs. Lefties this year for a awesome OPS of .552 so it makes some sense to platoon him. Correct. Plus he's not a centerfielder.
  9. And people think Bradley is a crazy ****. Callaspo is crazier and 100x less talented.
  10. So who does Castro project to be most like? Edgar Renteria? Someone else? or is it too soon? Ronnie Cedeno.
  11. If that were true I would throw every warm body in the farm system for David Wright. alas I don't think that's true.
  12. Agreed, Same with Jeter.
  13. There's a chance at this point. 2009 Fuld OPS: .739 2009 Sori OPS: .732 Fuld last 2 weeks OPS: .458 Sori last 2 weeks OPS: .921 Defense certainly plays a part and widens the gap in favor of Fuld, but offensively Soriano has been comparable, at least. Problem is, your 18 million dollar superstar shouldnt be comparable to a 28 year old AAAA player. I understand the knee issue, but I dont know why they arent shutting him down. we have 5 more years of him, so they should want him as healthy as possible, not limping around the bases and the outfield. Maybe it has to do with Soriano not wanting to shut it down?
  14. This team is done and because the cubs have a pretty good LH centerfielder who needs a platoon partner. A LH utility outfielder with no power is useless for this team beyond the end of this year. If I were to bench soriano I'd rather have Colvin or Snyder there as at least they could be major league assets for this team for the near future as LH utility OF guys with some pop.
  15. You had me at Jake Fox and you lost me at Sam Fuld. I'd rather see Brad Snyder or Colvin out there since both of those guys at least have a future with this team. (LH with some pop utility OF) Hasn't Fox been getting the lion's share of time splitting time at both corners in the OF and IF?
  16. Can we DFA both of them.
  17. Aaron Miles for the lollipop guild.
  18. I don't see how you can't blame the WBC it's a horrible horrible event. I'm some jackassed sportswriter and I approve this message.
  19. Makes you wonder if theyd be in the market for a scrappy switch hitting utility infielder. He's not crappy if the red sox want him.
  20. Yes and the comparison to Corey is silly. Upton averages 70 walks a season. I don't think Corey could get 70 walks in a season where in he started every AB 3-0. The real question on Upton will he ever consistently develop that power he flashed in 2007.
  21. No, smoking weed does not make him a bad guy. Being an overall prick does. And why is he an overall prick? Because he's fat and all fat people are pricks
  22. Hendry better pay out the butt to get Henry Blanco back. Either as a player or a coach. Since he's the only one who Soto has seemed to connect with.
  23. Can the cubs be the team to get on that action? :beg:
