  1. So Seattle won the toss, but did they ask to receive or defend? Where's Marty Morningweg when you need him?

  3. Clearly the NFL wants the Bears in the Super Bowl.
  4. Whenever we need a score-nullifying penalty, we can count on a Bruin.
  5. Troy and Joe Buck (who is a moran) just said they figured Jerramy Stevens would have a big day against the Cover 2. Except that the Bears were best team at defending tight ends this year. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef.php
  6. I'd prefer to sit next to a loan officer at Denny's, though.
  7. I too would like to make a correction. The perception that he pitched much better in 2005 than 2006 is quite incorrect. Actually his WHIP was similar (1.43 vs 1.51) as well as his K/BB (1.82 vs 1.86). The real difference between 2005 Dempster and 2006 Dempster was "clutch". In 2005 he had an incredible 77.5 LOB% as opposed to 63.3% in 2006. Now the question is, which one of those is the abberation. Well, probably both. In 2005 he allowed 131 runners for an expected runs allowed of 44 (as opposed to actually allowing 35 runs). In 2006 he allowed 113 runners for an expected runs allowed of 38 (as opposed to actually allowing 47, although only 40 were earned). Dempster probably isnt going to be as bad as he was last year, but allowing so many baserunners, I'm not optimistic for a repeat of 2005. Even if he would have allowed 38 runs last year and assuming conservatively that 7 of them were unearned, his ERA would have been 3.72. Still not great for a closer, but probably a fair projection. Yep. Also: .286 .394 .401 .795 .218 .296 .290 .586 Those are his three year splits against lefties and righties. Dempster, like Jacque Jones, should never, ever face tough lefties.
  8. I completely agree.
  9. Everyone has a bad game every now and then, but Rex has four games under 30 this year. There were 8 qualified QB's who finished the season with QB ratings lower than Rex's. Half of them lost their jobs during the season. One (Joey Harrington) won't be a starter next year, and another (Charlie Frye) will probably have to compete for a job.
  10. Not only did they show it, they zoomed in on her. So it's not okay to say the word aloud on network TV, but it is okay to show it?
  11. I predict they trade for Rex Grossman in the offseason.
  12. I think Colts and Ravens fans alike can agree that Gumbel and Dierdorf suck wildly.
  13. reggie wayne is quite the diver I'm sure he's not as good as this guy: http://espn-att.starwave.com/i/sportscentury/inline/louganis.jpg And I'm not sure what that has to do on the play in which Samari Rolle interfered.
  14. Not enough contact  I guess Rolle needed to wrap him up and tackle him, then.
  15. Wow. I can't believe they called off the pass interference call on that play.
  16. I hate to say it, but so would Neifi.
  17. I laughed out loud when I seen that. Clark is not that bad of an option, but the Cubs are so right handed that I would perfer them to sign a left handed batter instead. False dilemma. Signing Clark doesn't preclude adding another lefthanded bat. And Jacque should have a platoon partner. I'd rather it be Clark in CF than Murton in LF.
  18. Clark hit a lot of line drives that didn't fall for hits last year. He needs to get his walk rate back up a little bit to put up another .385 OBP like he did in 2004, but it's doable. I'd very much like a Clark/Jones platoon in CF.
  19. Loduca probably had an affair with Thomson's daughter.
  20. FWIW, bad weather causes more problems for my Comcast cable service than we ever experienced with DirecTV. But I still don't like the idea of EI going to DirecTV only.
  21. If Congress is going to do anything about this, Specter will be the one to do it.
  22. DirecTV is negotiating with MLB to be the exclusive provider of MLB Extra Innings. If the deal goes through, you'll only be able to get Extra Innings through DirecTV.
