  1. Yeah, but right before the season started, the Twins knew he had an injury that would be exacerbated by crouching, and yet they gave him minimal time at DH and minimal time off. So it might be smart to keep him at catcher where his bat provides the most value, but it was stupid to do so in the short term because it practically guaranteed a trip to the DL. Stupid Twins.
  2. Would you rather hear "Girlfriend" by Avril Lavigne? Yes. I'm with Banedon on that one.
  3. Poll: Which punch was better: Jim Everett punching Jim Rome or Michael Barrett punching AJ Pierzynski?
  4. The Cubs really lucked out in getting Len. Most play-by-play guys are wretched know-it-alls who don't know it all. I'm so glad I'm not a Reds fan, for example.
  5. Is Jim Hendry an announcer for the Royals? The disembodied voice just said the Royals biggest problem is lack of consistency with runners in scoring position.
  6. Jim Rome still has a show?
  7. I'd argue that there was no fleecing involved in the first trade, and I don't like the second trade for you at all. But your team is still awesome. I am not an Uggla fan at all, but I still think you did quite well in the first trade. Berkman is a big upgrade over Sheff. I also don't like the second trade at all for you. For clarification's sake, I agree that Berkman is a big upgrade over Sheffield, but I don't think he'll be much of an upgrade over Kelly Johnson. In real life, I'd take Berkman, of course, but in fantasy baseball, Johnson might be just as valuable, depending on the makeup of the rest of the team.
  8. I'm sure hoping for Yankees in the postseason. Please come back to NY, Roger.

  10. Gameday has 7 listed-4 by Snell, 1 by Chacon, 1 by Bayliss, 1 by Marte This makes me think of Dusty, which makes me ask: Does anyone have a pic of the suit he wore on Baseball Tonight last night?
  11. Hopefully Capuano's injury keeps him out for the year, Ben Sheets gets injured again, JJ Hardy remembers he's JJ Hardy, Ned Yost starts playing Mench against righties and Jenkins against lefties, and Ryan Braun stays in AAA.
  12. Hopefully the bad Guz won't show up... Don't worry. If he does, he'll get roughed up for two innings, and then Theriot will just walk on the field and take over. Lou won't even have to ask. He'll throw seven shutout innings while going 4 for 4. Then, at the postgame, he'll yell "YES, I CAN DO IT ALL...BITCH!" :D YES! More fan fiction, pls. Tell us about Rocky Cherry's first day in the clubhouse. About 1000 words would be nice.
  13. No. The White Sox only have 28 doubles. Darn. I was hoping for an early season fluke because of the small sample size so far. If Dye and/or Konerko get hurt, I think Lee has a real chance, small sample size or not. White Sox = danger of believing your own hype
  14. Not that there's anything wrong with that. maybe cjbucks is in heat like alfonso? I'm more into Michael Barrett myself.
  15. No. The White Sox only have 28 doubles.

  17. He missed it by inches. We gotta lead the league in doubles. Cubs were second to the Twins going in to today's game(s).
  18. Aside from the injury risk involved in leaving a starter in the game for too long, there's research that shows a strong correlation between a high pitch count in one game and a poor performance in the subsequent start.
  19. If I were a manager, I would bat Jack Wilson second and Jason Bay fifth.
  20. You forgot...we didn't sign him for one year like we should have...he's already signed for 3....Hendry was ahead of you. He's a smart man... He's one step ahead of us. He saw the future when he had his heart scare. then why didn't he do something about no clutch hitting and bad bullpen? eyre would have been long gone. He saw through October.

  22. I didn't mind the Lilly signing... Marquis, well, I'll wait until I've seen more than 6 starts before I give Jim credit for that one. Agreed on both counts.
