  1. ask Dusty. he's a major league manager, so he obviously knows more than we do.
  2. he hit it hard. chill. I'd like to hit neifi hard.
  3. at least he didn't hit into a DP. GIDP is what neifi does best.
  4. That's a good question for Cubs fans, too. PECOTA projects Barrett as better than Molina this year. Next year, they'r projected to be roughly on the same level (with Molina holding a very slight edge), and from 2008-2010, Molina is projected to be better hands down. I'd trade Barrett for Molina if it were clear the Cubs weren't going to the playoffs this year.
  5. I can think of a number of third basemen I'd trade Aramis Ramirez for straight up: 1. Alex Rodriguez 2. David Wright 3. Miguel Cabrera 4. Mike Schmidt 5. Javy Lopez
  6. Brian Mcann How do you figure? I don't really. Maybe in a year or two if Salty doesn't take his job. how many runs did Paul knock in today? Yep but Michael can't catch anyday. Will he always knock in 3? I'm not watching, so I don't know what your gripe is, but will there be a short hop play at the plate every day? Barrett is a good hitter, but how many games has he just killed us? Like with the play at Philadelphia when he threw to third when he could have reached out to tag Rollins. I would trade Barrett for a number of catchers straight up. Name some. Victor Martinez Joe Mauer Jason Varitek Ramon Hernandez Javy Lopez Javy Lopez? That's reaching. He's not really a catcher anymore.
  7. Yes, he is. He wanted to be a Cub a few years ago, and of course the Cubs didn't try to sign him. I think things worked out just fine with DLee, though.
  8. Let's stop the Neifi hating. Everytime he's played he's done well. let's stop feeding the fire of the Neifi haters. neifi feeds the fire of the neifi haters. in a recent bp article, he showed up as the 12th worst offensive player since 1900. hardball times shows he has a chance at being the worst hitter in baseball history: http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/the-real-chase/
  9. OBP down to .259. but i think he's still fast. speed kills.
  10. Jacque Jones hits nothing but homeruns!
  11. First pitch ball to Juan Encarnacion.
  12. Me, too. I wouldn't have a problem with it. That's how Neifi should be used.
  13. speed caused him to hurry the throw. I thought MLB outlawed speed?
  14. Yes, in fact, he is terrible. In a recent Baseball Prospectus article, he appeared as the #12 worst offensive baseball player since 1900. He is an ideal late-innings replacement or backup shortstop, but he shouldn't be starting. I don't think anyone here hates him - it's not that he kicks babies or eats puppies - but, like lots here say, I hate the way Dusty uses him. Neifi shouldn't start, but when he does, he shouldn't be anywhere near the 2 slot.
  15. Who cares about unloading the contract...swallowing that montrocity would be worth it if they'd just release him. I'd rather have Sing out there for the league minimum. Amen.
  16. Barrett would have hit into a DP if Jones had stayed at first. I know, I know, we can't assume a double play...
