  1. Baker let Prior throw nearly 130 pitches in his 3rd game of the season last year, IIRC. I thought it was pretty stupid considering he started the season on the DL. I think Baker would have sent Z back to the hill. Piror's 3rd start last year was 106 pitches. You're right, of course. I was thinking he came back around May 12, but it was April 12. Prior threw 126 pitches against the White Sox in a Sunday game near the end of May.
  2. Park's arm is going to fall off. He will then pitch left handed and still get first pitch outs.

  4. if they score here he would ... Wouldn't whoever pitches the 8th get the win? No. Not that it matters now. Zambrano is the pitcher of record until someone else actually throws a pitch. Thanks for the clarification.

  6. It's a shame, but it is the right move. He was starting to look a little fatigued, and when pitchers get tired, they start to lose their mechanics and hurt themselves. Dusty has four good choices in the pen right now. We should be fine.
  7. A future trivia question if ever there was one.
  8. Neifi will get a check swing single here. I can feel it.
  9. Prediction: Jones homers down the right field line.
  10. I agree. He even said his arm felt a little dead after his last start. It's not like some of our bullpen guys have seen much action lately. Howry and Dempster should pitch.
  11. Maybe we should convert Hairston to a pitcher. He does keep the ball down consistently.
  12. No, he didn't, Walker didn't have his foot on the plate. Right. He had it on first. Yeah, ok. You know what I meant. His foot was not on the base. I knew his foot wasn't on the plate. Cubs players don't step on home plate.

  14. The previous offseason was nothing to write home about, either.
  15. i got him around 87 i believe You are correct sir. San Diego announcers just said 87.
  16. It seems like Z is being fairly efficient. I don't know how many pitches he's thrown, but he's not laboring out there.
  17. ALONG WITH BILLY WAGNER WHO BLEW A SAVE You know Wagner is hurt and should have surgery but is trying to pitch through it, right? In other news, Pierre goes deep...to the edge of the outfield.
  18. Sinkers. He's getting his strikeouts with high fastballs sometimes.
  19. Perez, Zambrano, Pierre. Nah. Big Z will hit a gapper to right center and stretch it into a triple. Book it.
  20. No. And I have doubts about your being Andres Nocioni.
