  1. Would Barrett have blocked the plate anyway? No, he would have stayed in front of home like he always does and tried a swipe tag to avoid contact. You vs Barrett: Barrett by armbar.
  2. Glass half full, huh? currently, who's worse? howry and eyre have been really good. sorry for "celebrating" that. Jeff Kent and Richie Sexson are both doing worse than Aram in the cleanup spot. I already pointed that out.
  3. Greene should have been out at second. Hairston took the throw on the wrong side of the bag. Pads announcers have been talking about how both Neifi and Hairston didn't apply tags correctly.
  4. Yeah. Clearly he's not putting forth any effort now. He needs to take a more active leadership role in the clubhouse and start hitting to RF.
  5. I don't like Baker pitching Williamson in consecutive innings. Bochy did the right thing by using Hoffman. It's not good baseball to leave your best relievers on the bench. I hate the save stat.
  6. No, he's the 3rd worst. Jeff Kent and Richie Sexson are worse so far this year. I think all three will be doing fine by the end of the season.
  7. Glad you could pull yourself away from Conan. You call yourself a Cubs fan, but clearly you're just here for the chicken wings.
  8. I was in favor of those. I just thought we'd sign a RF, a CF, and maybe a SS too. like who? I know Willie Mays wasn't available.
  9. I was in favor of those. I just thought we'd sign a RF, a CF, and maybe a SS too.
  10. Same here with MLB.TV. As a courtesy to me and fallingpieces, I ask my fellow NSBBers to please post spoiler warnings before describing real-time actions.
  11. If by "painful" you mean "hilarious," yeah.
  12. According to the Pads announcers, Juan is at his best when he hits the ball on the ground. He should stick to his strengths. Like rapping.
  13. A "Perez" is grounding into a double play.
  14. I disagree about it being the right call, but this is a situation in which it can be defended.
  15. Which is worse: Hairston's inability to get the bunt down, or Dusty calling for it?
  16. You and your empty threats. You'll keep watching this game no matter what. We all know it. :)
  17. can someone please tell me what happened? Bynum appeared poised to catch an easy fly ball, but then at that last second, he let it drop. He then turned to the Cubs bench, did a crotch chop, and tore off his Cubs jersey, revealing a Padres jersey underneath. Then he hit Bob Howry with a steel chair and posed for the crowd.
  18. Pads announcers have really been gushing over Z's performance tonight.
  19. This might come down to whomever runs out of pitchers first. Good thing we have seven men in the bullpen.
