    His value is less than 3.6 million/year for two years? That's absurd. One year. Unless you see him being a Cy candidate next year. Oh yeah...I forgot 2013 was an option. That makes it even more ridiculous.

    The Cardinals now look a million times better on paper without Pujols in the lineup. :roll: Does the cash they saved outweigh his absence? If their payroll stays the same, then Pujols would've more or less used up their resources. What's not clear is if they'll be raising the payroll after 8 playoff home games. After the last title they cut payroll...wouldn't surprise me at all to see them take that $$ Pujols saved them to the bank.

    Why would he get bigger? He came to camp both this year and last year having shed a few lbs. Guys like Geo usually do. I like Geo but he is not close to an untouchable player. Who said anything about him being an untouchable player? Your comment was that he will get bigger and be unable to stay off the DL. Your answer to the reason why he would get bigger is because "guys like Geo usually do"? :-k

    I really hope someone from the Cubs organization is leaking rumors like this - it's a brilliant move (regardless of whether they ultimately make him an offer).
