  1. Dan Patrick mentioned that he had heard of 3 names on the list, but obviously couldn't say yet. He did however say that one shocked him, one slightly shocked him, and the other wasn't a surprise.
  2. Not a big Shaq fan, but being a Marquette guy, I love Wade. That being said, the Mavs are a bad matchup for the Heat. Mavs in 6 and hopefully then Cuban makes a move for the Cubs. That's my dream scenario.
  3. And would Mark Cuban be involved? Yes indeed we'd have a mess on our hands. Alliteration galore. Cuban's Cubs Club Cuba or Cuba Clubs Cuban's Cubs. Take your pick.
  4. 5 seconds of silence followed by the report of a .45 caliber pistol Post of the thread.
  5. Isn't this one of the signs of the Apocalypse? I'm laid up with a foot injury, so I'll be watching this ghastly spectacle. Only if Mabry is in for Walker as well.
  6. He's also got the right mentality. He was interviewed after the game and said that while the boos hurt, he deserved every one of them. He took accountability for the loss and I have to believe he's going to recover.
  7. Nicely played. I'm hoping I'm not the only one who got the reference. :-k  I don't get it. There's no shame in that, but you should still either read or see a good production of the play: Waiting for Godot. Where? Waiting for Gidot is an absurdist play by Samuel Beckett. It's called the play where nothing happens twice (those familiar with it will get that comment). Sorry. I'm a theatre and English double major and my college is going to perform that show next semester.
  8. Nicely played. I'm hoping I'm not the only one who got the reference.
  9. Jermaine Dye's a good guy. And Konerko seems alright. I was talking in generalizations, but yeah. I've heard good things about those two as well.
  10. The only Sox that I can say I like is Jim Thome. He's a genuine class act and great player. But that's it. A lot of the rest are punks.
  11. Anyone know when the draft lottery is? I would assume soon, but I also don't remember if its during the playoffs or not.
  12. Yes, there could be a silver lining. ...yeah right! Dusty didn't give up the 3-run homer. We should be booing Dempster. 26 saves in a row until today.Booing him would be ridiculous. It's OK to boo Latroy but not Dempster. I'd hate to play the race card, but... You have GOT to be kidding me. Please tell me you're being facetious. I can't believe that thought even crossed his mind. This is Dempster's first blown save that we've lost in over 50 some odd attempts. Latroy just was awful as a closer, consistently. And the race card comment made me want to throw my computer.
  13. This is the first game that Dempster has blown that the Cubs have actually lost as our closer. His first save attempt against the Mets he blew, but we won it in extras. The only other blown save was against the Cardinals, but Perez hit the grand slam in the 10th to win it.
  14. For the Cubs no less. Sorry if this has already been posted. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060513&content_id=1451807&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Cross your fingers folks!
  15. I see this as the most likely scenario. Saints don't fall too hard, get their draft picks, and after the Titans take their QB, the Saints still get who they originally targeted at 4.
  16. You know what? A part of me is ecstatic that New Orleans has the option to draft Bush or accept a trade for a team that is desperate. Finally, something good could happen to the Saints. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see the Jets slide up. They'd be desperate enough, and then maybe Jets fans wouldn't boo the selection.
  17. This will be our first time facing Olsen, who rooted for the Cubs when he attended Crystal Lake South High School in the suburbs. Here's hoping for the "returning home" jitters.
  18. I'm surprised I'm the only one who voted for shell and all. Usually do that with the salted peanuts at Wrigley. I think it tastes good and I don't get sick from it, but maybe I'm just weird. Wouldn't be the first time...
  19. Maybe this is just the optimist in me, but suppose for a moment that we got Cabrera. Could a fellow Venezulean (and peer) in Zambrano help his work ethic? My take on Cabrera is more that he has a problem with superiors telling him to work out. If Zambrano particularly was paired with him, I'd like to think Cabrera would be more receptive to advice. Just a thought. Of course, it's a moot point because Cabrera is a Marlin.
  20. I seem to remember Cuban singing the 7th inning stretch last year and being asked about buying a baseball team. He mentioned the Cubs because (and maybe someone can help me out here) Cuban helped engineer internet broadcasting rights for baseball games or something like that. It was through this that he developed a relationship to the Cubs. Can anyone help me out here?

I know he's not a Bulls target and it was only a matter of time, but ESPN says Rudy Gay is declaring for the draft.
