  1. You have to applaud these other teams for trying, but it's obvious how this playoffs is ending. 12 in '12. :banghead:
  2. I have a full subscription and I love it. Great stuff.
  3. This is my biggest beef. I don't think it should have been implemented this year because they didn't have time to do it the right way. I think at the very least it should be treated like a double-elimination tournament where the Braves would have had to win only one game and the Cardinals would have had to win two both in Atlanta. If you get a true tie like you did in the AL then it just reverts back to a one-and-done like it's always been. Yep, I still think it's selig trying to fix something that isn't broken. Just leave it alone, it was working well. Now Atlanta totally got hosed, beaten by a team it's had a far better year than in one game. Atlanta had all year to beat Washington. They would have a gripe had the rules been changed at the ASB or something. So the 162 games mean nothing now. Baseball has always been about series in the postseason. Now it's a one game thing. It's not right.

  5. I just hate how they basically forced a tie breaker game, when there is no tie. You can't recreate the drama of last year. Not matter how hard you try. It's something that just has to happen on it's own.
  6. I hate them so much that I literally can't watch any playoff game they're involved in. I don't want to see the next stupid [expletive] that will win them a game they didn't deserve. Like this one. They didn't deserve to win the game? The call was highly questionable, or perhaps flat out bad, but the Cardinals were winning by three runs....with no guarantee that the Braves score any if the infield fly wasn't called. By being the second WC, I can buy that the Cards don't deserve to be in the playoffs....but they played better than the other team in the wildcard game and deserved to win. The cards are still 5 back after last night, this whole thing is a joke. But, Selig will get applauded for it. We need more wild cards. That way we can get a sub .500 champ soon.
  7. Don't even try and act like you didn't get a massive assist tonight. I'd bet even the players would admit as much (maybe not on the record). That was an awful, awful call. I'm just glad these tool sheds will be spending half their time on a cubs' board while their team is in the playoffs. Again.
  8. It has to be amazing to be a cardinal fan.
  9. Yeah I'm not holding my breath on XRM. His dad was an fsu player as was wiggins. They'll both end up there I think.
  10. I like the commit for the Simeon connection, but it calls into question the wisdom of letting James go. I don't think it does. Jalen James isn't a high d1 player. And Tate is? I didn't mind gambling on Jackson/Ennis but this appears to be a clear step down from even James. Tate's only ranked as the #19 player 2013 Illinois player by the Hoops Report. The people I'm reading say this kid is pretty athletic and is going to be a decent player. I prefer him to James big time. Plus Simeon recruits the best high school talent. They went out to get Tate, not James.

  12. Tate from Simeon commits to Illinois.
  13. The cardinals are winning this again. Then Bud will give them two chances in the competitive balance lottery next year. Because he can.
  14. Fortunately (or unfortunately...?) the user Slide Castro Slide is incorrect. Yes, the OP was thrilled when Hendry was fired, and was mildly thrilled when Theo was hired but the OP doesn't really have a problem with a rebuilding year or three. The point is that people give Theo a free pass instead of berating some of his poor decisions. He did wreck the Red Sox recently. We can't ignore that. By winning 90 games his last year there? Sign me up to have that is a down year please.
  15. I think his legs are really bothering him.
  16. Thank god this season is over. I wish we could fast forward one more year.
  17. This reminds me of people talking about how the 8 hitter doesn't need to be a great hitter so who cares if player X can't hit. Those 1 or 2 scholarship players that don't see the court get there through failure to develop. When you lock in a scholarship for 4 years to a guy you know is never seeing the court, you're purposely handicapping yourself. The argument is whether Jackson is worth 2 scholarships, not "who cares the 13th guy never plays anyway" And I would argue he is. Five star point guards are pretty nice to have.
  18. We haven't had low expectations since 03. The 04 team won 89 games and was booed on the regular.
  19. Yeah, I'd prolly have done the same thing.
  20. I dont blame them for doing that, but man is it risky. Especially if he DJ only stays a year or two.
  21. I feel like the rays screwed the pooch by not adding him. They needed a right handed power bat and we were trying to give him away.
  22. If Butler's the best comp, we should probably either try and trade him to an AL team as soon as they show interest. If he were an OF or 3B, it would be super, but for a 1st Baseman, Butler's mid .800s OPS is by no means worth the defensive shortcomings. Good lord :banghead: no we shouldn't trade him right away.
  23. they truly are the best buy of the big ten Lol. They beat KU by 2 TDs. Ah most people here are back to being KState football fans or cheering against Mizzou.
  24. Half of the phog must be pissed.
  25. Pete Kozma has an OPS over .900 right now. He's never been over .702 in the minors. I know it's small sample size and all but, Jesus christ.
