  1. The FA class 2 years away is always more interesting because the 2 years in between where half of them get locked up pre-FA hasn't happened yet. That fact doesn't make the upcoming class any less of a pile of [expletive]. But two years ago this class wasn't a pile of poop. It had a lot more guys who have since been extended. That's the point.
  2. on occasion. Although we may no longer be seeing situations where guys like Cabrera come available when they are actually studs (as opposed to previously listed used to be studs). But you don't build your team with the expectations that you can get some other team's stud later. Giancarlo Stanton will be available soon. The Marlins can't help themselves. I hope so. That would be so awesome. Agreed, and you know it's prolly gonna happen. Thanks to the Heath Bell And Jose Reyes deals. They'll want to shed payroll and they have Yellich coming.

  4. He just took last years KU team to a title game. He's becoming a better coach as he goes along. Edit: plus it sounds like he dropped cat burglar after the Louisville visit. As did Louisville. Guess you can't steal from the players on campus during your official. Who knew? I just meant he's had some recruiting struggles, especially with point guards. We're recruiting some dude who decommited from Towson now. Yikes. So what allegedly happened with barber? He stole from a Louisville player while on his official? That's the rumor. And louisville and KU both pulled their offers immediately when the coaching fraternity heard about it. Mike Beasley had committed to some Podunk north Carolina school at some point, don't sweat it. Lol.
  5. Awesome. Until you realize hell will be Hawk Harrelson calling your everyday life.

  7. I doubt where you will be playing for his junior year had that much bearing on his decision. I think that he liked Illinois, but not enough to leave home. No getting his brains beat in by UNC and Duke every year was what won him over. Lol, I sure wish we could get the Chicago kids to be as state loyal as the Indiana ones are. You mean like Branden Dawson, Gary Harris, Glen Robinson III, DeShaun Thomas, Marquis Teague...? Lots of 5 Star talent leaveing the state over the last couple years. Oh, and Trey Lyles is going to go to Kentucky. edit: Mitch McGary, Zak Irvin... so yeah, Michigan's whole roster just about... Let's compare that to Chicago this decade. Granted a lot of that was our own doing as well.

  10. Klee tweeted DJ to nd. That sucks.
  11. Do not underestimate how bad the Astros will be again next year, in a tougher division.
  12. http://instagram.com/p/QFQcWziYlY/ FWIW. Probably nothing.
  13. I think Mike Brey has done horribly developing top players in the past. Maybe those guys were overrated though. Hope DJ picks Illinois, but not holding my breath.
  14. That bolded part surprised me as well. But Yasiel is a year plus older than Jorge. He should be able to look impressive against these kids.
  15. The insiders at Illinois loyalty swear it's Illinois, they're usually pretty accurate. We will see. I'm sure you will get him. ND doesn't get a big-time prospect unless they're destined to be wildly underwhelming (see Chris Thomas, Luke Zeller) and Jackson sounds like the real deal from all I've heard about him. Haven't followed closely, though. I'd love to get him, but I'm a bit leery to get my hopes up on anything Illinois basketball related. Since the last 6 years have been a train wreck.

  17. Ugh, second year in a row a Marmol blown save helps them out big time.
  18. So that makes the question: How long after a positive/dismissed test does a player have to go before he's eligible for MVP votes? I'm with you in that he's in doubt. I just think that if he's playing under the rules of the game he should be eligible for its awards. Same with Cabrera. I don't think MLB should honor his request to be removed from the batting title. I think he should wear it in shame. I don't know, my issue with Braun is how he got off on a technicality. At leas Melky has now owned that he cheated. I mean sure he had the whole website mess at first, but he has since admitted to it. Braun skated by on a technicality. Had he manned up and taken his punishment it would be easier to move past it, IMO.
  19. There is different level of doubt around each player. Not all of them have failed a test within the calendar year. Braun has.
  20. Posey is probably the guy, and he is a fantastic player. Braun honestly deserves it, as much as I hate to say it. When the Brewers miss the playoffs it'll let the writers off the hook. How do you feel Molina is the more deserving MVP than Buster? I have to hear this rationale. Obviously I have bias. I won't bore you by saying it's his defense or clutch hitting. I haven't watched enough Giants games to really appreciate Posey. How do you feel Posey is more deserving than Braun? (if that is the case) I just don't think they can vote for Braun. His numbers deserve it, but there is too much doubt around him.
