Griffey did, but he's so bad at everything else basketball related he negates himself. But seriously, Richardson is a godless chucked who shoots sub 35 percent from the floor. Sit his ass and play Bertrand more minutes. Richardson is the most efficient offensive starter that Illinois has. And that includes Paul being pretty damned efficient this year. So was bill Cole when he was here. Another reason why I don't buy into the advanced stats in basketball yet.

Two things, well three. 1. D.J. Richardson sucks ass. Brings nothing to the table. 2. Groce was out coached today, sluff under the screen and make Pressey make jumpers. He won't, you'll win. 3. We are improving big time, we shot like crap and still had a shot against a damn good team.

Savor it Duke, I believe Groce is going to put an end to days of Kentucky, Duke, et. al. plucking whatever player they want out of Chicago and the rest of Illinois. Never heard this one before. Imagine if you got all of the Iowa talent, you'd be pretty good. Now imagine if we could do the same. Gee I wonder why that's what we want.

Not counting Maurice Creek, Illinois has as many 4-star-or-above players as Indiana (although IU has two 5-stars in that group). That and this year's start really speak to how poor of a job Bruce Weber did. He also had Meyers Leonard and Crandall Head to use at some point last year. He had as much talent as anyone in America not named Kentucky. He just didn't put together pieces that fit.

I can only assume that means Illinois will start cheating. Why the hell not? It happens everywhere. I mean besides USC football. Also does Jabari Parker use butter to wash his face?

Me too, but would you trade one of our top prospects for him? I wouldn't, he could easily end up being a reliever. Maybe the Royals are looking for someone like Barney to replace Johnny Giavotella at 2B since they're seemingly all in for 2013. I think the plan is for Christian colon to slide over and play second. But, yeah I could see them liking Darwin.

Not really. I'd rather have Baez than anyone not named Wil Myers in KCs. After this trade their best prospect is Starling, who I'd slide in after Almora and Soler.

if your biggest issue at the end of the season is whether your coach gets screwed out of a stupid coach of the year award, i'd say things went pretty well. of course, not surprising that an illini fan is preemptively whining about something like that. He's a Mizzou fan gross It's Groce, John Groce.

I remember how poorly we finished last year. I also saw kenpom has us projected to win three games in conference. It's crazy to think that at this point. KenPom predicts that Illinois goes 9-9 in conference, despite that they'll only be favorites in 6 games. Thus the penalty for having 1 game against PSU and no home games against MSU or Iowa. On the plus side, they don't go to Bloomington this year. Jesus, that's not at all what someone posted on Illinois loyalty. They had us favored in only 3 big games. Yeah, they're favored in both games against Nebraska and NW, and home games against PSU and Purdue. Very slight underdogs at Purdue and Iowa, and very slight underdogs at home to Wisconsin (who is probably overvalued in KP due to their blowing out everyone who isn't their equal), Minnesota, Michigan and OSU. Heavier underdogs vs IU and at Michigan, OSU, Minnesota, and MSU. So, on average, they win the favored games and split the toss-ups. I would like to say we should win both purdue games, but we all know how that games gonna go. Brandon already has two fouls.

I've been pleased, just wish we handled the mid majors better.

For at least 29 of those minutes, nobody even knows he is on the floor. I noticed the 6 turnovers, the 1 for 5 from the field, and the kid he was supposed to be guarding going crazy.

I don't get why D.J. Richardson gets to play 30 plus minutes every game. Especially the games whe he isn't making shots.
