    It was bound to happen, acutally it should happen more. Everyone knows he has a puss arm and thus they all try to take the extra base. At some point someone had to bite off more than they could chew.

    Apparently, they noticed. The Cubs also announced that they think that trading Lou Brock might have been a mistake.

    Hopefully we add another quality sp so he starts game 3. Does anyone else feel sad that the great Mark Prior came and went so quickly? It's like we really didn't even get to know him.

    nah brah, we're still in this! gotta keep in the wild card race can't shut down our horses. i think he's injured, too, but cubs brass is too stubborn to shut him down. Cubs motto, don't ever admit you messed up.

    Thanks, I've been saying that for a while now. Hendry and co are terrible. I am going to photoshop a picture of hendry going thru a dumpster... it will be titled: Jim Hendry Dumpster Diving since 2003. Will you put Maddux, DLEE, ARAM, and Nomar in there? All guys we got after 2003 started. I'm thinking more along the lines of: Perez Rusch Ryan Dumpster Burnitz Bad Ohman Roberta Rovoa Todd Walker and the beat goes on...some GM's get talent..others go Dumpster Diving. Thats funny.

    If we sign a good pitcher this offseason, does this Mark deserve a rotation spot? i have been saying this for most of the year. mark has been a rather average(actually below average) pitcher since june of last year. he has shown no signs of getting anything back. right now, other than his name, he is not as good as any of the young pitchers. my hope is he shows some signs of life and then we must deal him! can you believe that hendry tried to get bedard and tejada for him? truly if he ruin that deal by not taking tejada straight up...he should be fired immediately. right now i would have been happy with bedard straight up... just think we couldn't even get hairston back for prior right now! Yeah his stuff is really bad, I don't wanna hear about a slow gun either cause Juan is hitting 94.

    Is it all the organization's fault? YOu can definitely make a case for it or did you forget how bad he was abused in 2003? Crazy pitch counts and letting him go out there and pitch when he hurt his arm running the basepaths? Yeah, you can make a case. How's Kerry Wood doing these days? Oh well at least we learned and as a result are making sure not to abuse Zambrano. We won't make the same mistake 3 times. :shock:

    Or Pagan. Oh well a nosedive probably gets rid of Dusty. That's isolationist and defeatist. If you are satisfied with a nosedive, then you're clearly not a true Cubs fan. :twisted: I like to think about how the best two years of talent we have had in my lifetime was blown, by the most incompetent twit you can find for a manager.

    Yep. His minor league numbers show that his OBP isn't closely tied to his batting average, and in some years he has walked more than he has struck out. get rid of him now. :)

    When was he ever a power hitting pitcher? In 2003 he batted .250, but other than that he hasn't really been noteworthy at the plate, even for a pitcher. Well I meant Z without the power a battler. He did hit for power in the minors though and had two homers here in '03

    Whyd does Prior seem to not care about his hitting anymore? He used to be the same type hitter Z is, now he just gives abs away.

    Yeah, he should have given up 2 runs that inning. How? Walk, flyout, Walk, flyout, flyout. The inning should have been over wildness or not. I don't know if the ball hit to Pagan was routine, but the first one definitely should have been an out. He was back to the wall and then just missed it, Murton would have had it. I don't know. I like Murton, but he hasn't exactly played a gold glove caliber LF either. No, but he does go back for a ball well. Add that to the fact he is a much better hitter, especially against lefties and you see why it is we pay Dusty the big bucks.

    Juan should play a little deeper, it is obvious he is having no problems coming in on the ball.
