  1. Yeah, he should have given up 2 runs that inning. How? Walk, flyout, Walk, flyout, flyout. The inning should have been over wildness or not. I don't know if the ball hit to Pagan was routine, but the first one definitely should have been an out. He was back to the wall and then just missed it, Murton would have had it.

  3. Hopefully our outfielders took notes on that routine flyball and how the Brewers decided to help their pitcher out by catching it.
  4. He'll be back next year at 2.5 million. Just let that soak in for a while.
  5. the hbp would have been in the second inning on most competent little league teams.
  6. Not sure, Pagan is only 6-23 against LHP. It's Pagan's turn, Dusty said he'd start today at the beginning of the series. Face it he should have been out of that inning without any damage, but these clowns who can catch the ball again can't. A better team would have contained the damage. Well since the first bloop hit was a routine flyball and the Pagan overran a ball that was also routine. That would have been two outs with two walks for menchs flyout.

  8. Yet someone said on a thread that he should be in consideration for the Cy Young award.
  9. This is why Baker is paid the big bucks. You take out a hot hitter and leave in a 4-3 in CF. We all know that Pierre can pop one out to tie the game at any time unlike Murton who couldn't hit one out to save his life. Well that and all the prime fas who have flocked to Chicago to play for him.
  10. If you think Barrett is poor defensively at catcher, wait until you see him at third. Of course we all know David Bell will be the future Cub third baseman if Aramis leaves. I'm not hoping that happens, just preparing myself for the eventuallity. Hell at that point I will convert to the Royals.
  11. The problem with that is it would likely involve inserting Henry Blanco into the lineup. Holy crap that was a shot. Yeah, unless we went out and got a decent receiver who could hit a little bit. I wouldn't mind having Miller back. Or hell, even giving Soto a shot. Dusty would have a stroke if he had to do that. I'm alll for Barrett as a DH, alas until the NL converts I'd rather have him behind the plate until Soto can hit like he can... If Ramirez leaves for free agency Barrett may end up at third. God we can't really let Aram go. We pretty much have to cave to his demands.

All the more reason to do it. I refuse to acknowledge that the franchise could be dumb enough to bring Dusty back. It is the Cubs after all. 100 years of failure can't be done just by accident. 97 years. 1906-08 were pretty good. Then it all went to hell.

  15. But that happens. You have to be a teammate and pick them up when they make a mistake and try not to let it be a bigger one. I agree, but it did change his performance. That and it seems the pitchers have to pick up Barrett quite a bit. yea, your right, hes a bum and the reason we stink this year, lets starta smear campaign and trade him Yep, because that is what I said. you did?? huh..I thought I was just trying to "Cub think" No, I like Barrett. He is a great hitter who gets that you can increase your value by walking. I just think he is a hack behind the dish. I wish the cubs would think creatively with him. like find a REAL catching coach? Dude, wouldn't he get bored being the only "real" coach on the staff?

  20. Yeah, it would be 4-0 instead of 6-0. Zambrano really didn't have anything today, and neither did the rest of the team, apparently. But he was cruzing and then that happened and he lost it. He was throwing a fit on the mound after it happened.
  21. If Barrett can catch strike 3 back in the third this is a different game.
  22. Bob trying to sell David Bell to the masses, gross.
  23. Carlos battles more than some of our regulars.
