  1. Raisin, in your opinion do you think he is better than Ryan Zimmerman? I think he is head and shoulders better, perhaps not as good defensively, but is far superior offensively. I don't see how KC has kept him down all year. Oh yeah I am leaving to go see him play in an hour. Go Wichita beat those darn Astors.
  2. Juan should be nowhere near this team next year, if we actually care about a productive lineup. Ah, but he front office doesn't care. They do however have some nice official wrigley field bricks you can pick up at their website.
  3. I agree his being here every five days is gonna possibly cost us the first pick. Rich hasproved his point, he should be traded away as he is ready for the big leagues.
  4. That is a fair comparison. I don't see the Beltran one at all. I think he is a better hitter for average already than Carlos. His power will probablybe in Beltran's neighborhood. He will neversniff Carlos is basebrunning or defense though.
  5. ah touche, but he also has the abitlity to play corner of and 1b. Heh, in that case, Upton has the ability to play SS and CF. Yeah I guess, I just think it was pretty obvious that Gordon was the better player considering he could be a good big leaguer from day one. Upton might not ever even make it up.
  6. No, he's going to save my fantasy team! We want that number 1 pick and he is the only pitcher I have faith in.
  7. Rich Hill is going to blow this season for us.

  9. Gordon is gonna stay at third. Hell he is better defensively than Teahan right now. I would imaigne Mark learns to play a little bit of 2b and becomes pretty valueable. What the heck where the Dbacks thinking? If they would have picked Gordon instead of Upton they would have some kind of team for next year. You think Teahen could hack it at 2B? He's a pretty big guy, and especially with him having shoulder surgery 1B would seem to be a logical spot for him. He won't hit enough to play 1b. Either Butler, Shealy, or Huber are going to play there. His best bet is to try to learn to play some 2b or a corner outfield spot. Since he came back from AAA his OPS is well north of .900. That's plenty at 1B, and much better than Shealy or Huber would do. Yea it is, if you believe he can do it for over an entire season. I don't. I also think that is where Butler plays the majority of his career. Bulter will put up a better OPS than that.
  10. If they add David Price at number 1 to go with Greinke and Hochevar they will have a pretty good staff starting to shape up as well.

Upton was the best prospect at the time of the draft (arguably still is, despite an average first pro season - Maybin and Gordon obviously have a valid argument too). No need to evaluate the draft based on who comes to the big leagues first. No, don't get me wrong I like Upton too. But, they already had their ss for the next 15 years in Drew. Plus they have CHris Young in cf. Gordon would have made more sense.
  13. MLB got rid of the alternating leagues thing with the #1 pick a couple years ago I believe. The Padres and D-Backs drafted #1 overall in back-to-back years in '04 and '05, for example. Yes wasn't that the year after Prior's draft? Otherwise wouldn't we have picked first?

  15. As someone who has watched him play at least 7 times this year in person and a couple other on tv. It is still horrible. But, man can he hit.
  16. Yep...think those "experts" that predicted the upset are shaking their heads? Think Peter King has figured out who's playing QB and RB? :) It's just like the people, myself included, who thought Jordan would get the Wizards to the playoffs. We always wanna believe the legend can pull off the unthinkable.
  17. and I get Dallas Jacksonville. News flash Fox not everyone gives a crap about TO.
  18. How great would it be if he just flat out said. Last year was great. We sold a ton of tickets, we sold a lot of bricks, we were always in the news. Jones had 25-30 homers, Juan Pierre led the league in hits, we were able to break in a lot of pitchers at the big league level, and we caught the ball better.
  19. Well if THAT happened. Then that would be a very sucessful off-season. I think. Yeah. I mean I'd rather not have Pierre for the deal he's gonna get, but the other acquisistions would make up for it I think. No way that happens. It should, but it won't. Manager Dusty Signings Jose Guillen, David Bell, Gil Meche, and Neifi Perez is brought back.
  20. That's too bad, it would have been fun to watch him help our standings in the fecal league :( My guess is they might move him around to give him a start at wrigley if he wants it.
  21. After Smoltz cuts through us like butter tomorrow wehavegot to be a cinch for 100 losses. Nice work Dusty. You completely dismantled everything good about this club. Don't get me wrong, you had help cough Jim Hendry cough. I guess more of us should haverealized 2003 was it, Dusty did why else would he have severely abused three great young pitchers?
