I know you don't want to hear it, but IMO, you were no worse than the 3rd best team we played this year. Probably the second best. (ahead of aTm, behind Florida.) That's a fun team to watch, unless your team is playing them. Great game. I appreciate it. I just feel like crap right now. The best season in our history, a game we easily should've won, and we're done. The last time I felt like this was when Arenas hit that shot at the buzzer to beat the Bulls a few years ago. Ugh... You guys played awesome. You guard like no one else's buisness.

KU definitely caught some breaks. It happens in every game. Does it suck for SIU? Yeah. But that's how sports work. That's how sports works, but that doesn't mean the refs shouldn't be called on it. Well if UCLA wins I am sure that situation will reverse in the next round. It shouldn't, but probably will. You saying UCLA will get the calls over KU? I haven't watched enough UCLA to know if they're one of those teams (a la Duke), but I've never thought they were the overwhelming beneficiary of calls. No I don't think they do, but the game is so close to their campus. I would imagine it will play a factor. I think the pecking order usually goes Duke, Kansas, everyone else.

your guys played a heck of a game. I'd be proud if my school played that hard against KU. Oh wait, my school beat KU. But my team didnt' make it to the tourney, so you're still in better shape. If your team didn't make the routny you shouldn't be talking about them in the tourny thread. A bit hypocritical no? oh shut up Nice. Yet the mods tell the Illinois and Indiana fans to let it go. But you can take a shot at us, then attack a poster by telling them to shut up.

Not completely. i still don't believe in refs deciding games. it's easy to say refs are calling against your team when you're biased for your team. same goes with people saying announcers hate their team. they only hear the bad things about their team and not the other I want KU to win. So how am I being biased? all i'm saying is that if SIU loses, it will be due to missed layups, not the refs and there's no guarantee they lose if KU keeps shooting free throws like the Illini (sorry, couldn't help myself) So the game wouldn't be different if they waved off Julian Wright's dunk in the first half and got the goaltending call when Tatum was fouled in the second half? In such a close game, that could have been the difference - SIU isn't afforded the chances that KU was. Meh, SIU has had plenty of chances tonight. Missing two layups at point blank off that one steal was probably the turning point against them. They got screwed out of 4 points and lost by 3. Missed layups or not, that isn't right.

Thad Matta ain't leaving he has an NBA team lined up for him. He has like 16 5 stars already committed. Plus OSU can spend some moeny too.

Seriously there have been three really bad calls in KU's favor, although no suprise there they always get a ton of calls. But, that combined with SIU shooting poorly yet hanging around should worry KU.

Bill Self will not miss on this kid. I had heard too that he was signed, sealed, delivered KU, but in the last couple days it's come out that Self is offering someone else too, or that something that Self has done recruiting-wise may steer Releford away from Lawrence. I'm not a scout subscriber so I don't know the exact details. EDIT: Looks like Self is after Willie Warren, and for whatever reason that means Releford isn't as likely. That is Self's MO. He has offered the other kid now and Releford will see this and probably be forced to decide sooner. I imagine Releford commits soon.

I was waiting for an Illini fan to make this about them. Just didn't think it would be you you'll have to forgive me, but i get shell-shock every time a fairly big name coach comes into the Big Ten. it generally means bad things for illini recruiting--just the latest being sampson-gordon. as for illini fans making everything about the illini, that's totally untrue. there are wayyyy more people chomping at the bit to talk about missouri athletics, for instance. and it's a chicago board, there's bound to be more than a few illini fans lurking about--penn state fans might just have to deal with it. Yeah he is just pissed I wasn't the one who said it. I love how some things can be beat to death like Dusty bashing, but don't talk about illinois. On a board for a professional team located in illinois. We could talk about penn state. Apparently they are going to try and field a team again next year. I think it is cute really. notice how I didn't bring up Penn State (who I only sorta root for cuz they're in town) in a thread about Tubby Smith and Minnesota. nor did I, Raisin did. I don't get how you wouldn't think Illinois fans would be concerned with this.
