  1. So Snood I am assuming here PG Collins G Robinson G Chalmers PF Arthur C Alrdrich-Kaun You are still a top ten team.
  2. Great trade Jimbo.
  3. Yeah it is always that way. Then the 70th best guy wonders why he didn't get picked.
  4. Bad Bullpen meaing Ohman and Eyre. The rest has been pretty good. I agree, but we have used those two along with Miller enough that we have given away games.
  5. Or if the bullpen wasn't crap. We have blown leads in more than half of our losses.
  6. Says the guy who takes every opportunity to he can to talk about how great Rich Hill is. actually, more people talk about how i talk about being right about rich hill than i actually talk about how i was right about rich hill. by quite a bit. plus, i don't really know what you're saying. I mean we all have a lot of hope for these guys. We all get angry when we perceive the Cubs didn't give them a fair shake. I don't think Harris or Hill got one from the Cubs. Until this year, I don't think Rich Hill did. When we have a team the loses 90 every other year, this is a problem. I don't think it's about a fair shake with those two guys. I mean, it's not like the Cubs gave up on those two-they simply traded them for quality players. In the case of Harris, he had just made it to AAA in 2004, so the team traded him, and at the time both of the primary positions he played (3B and 2B) were blocked. In the case of Hill, he got some at-bats in 2002 (probably should have had a few more), didn't really play in 2003 because the player at his position at the major leagues was playing well, and then was traded for a valuable player. The Cubs certainly have not given some players a fair shake over the last few years, but these two really weren't part of that. They just simply got traded because the Cubs needed a couple of pieces to make playoff runs, and they had value as prospects. Was Harris in the Nomar trade? He was wasn't he? If so I agree with what you are saying. These two weren't great examples, but it would be nice for once one of our young guys getting 500 at bats uninterrupted. I mean we had Patterson who was the number two prosepct in all of baseball and we couldn't do that? Why the heck not? Because we were going to the playoffs with Damon Buford leading the charge? The way the cubs handle their young players is ridiculous.

I know, I am not really trying to argue with him, just trying to point out he does the same with Rich Hill. No biggie.

  10. but contradicted here: lawrence journal world i do think he'll declare, though. he's a guy who might benefit from waiting for a thinner draft, however. What year would that be? Since next year the draft will be just as big. Especially with guards and forwards.
  11. Especially since Mark Prior is a Cub. I really don't like how people blame this all on Kerry and Mark. They don't want to be hurt. They are also responsible for some great memories for most cubs' fans. How quickly we forget.
  12. I don't care at this point. I want him to get back and do well. I am rooting for Mark Prior. I don't care if he does well with anyone else, including the Cardinals. Face it. Prior is pretty much responsible for '03'(with Wood). I hope he gets another shot.
  13. Wait... seriously? Check out Lance Dickson's numbers. Definitely a joke. Dickson was drafted in the 1st round of the 1990 draft. Made his ML debut on August 9, 1990 and played his final game on August 18, 1990. Did he get injured or could he just not get the job done? Lance had serious arm/shoulder injuries. They were such that they just shut him down and he was never heard from again. I dont think they could fix him. I remember being really excited about him at one time. He looked like a can't-miss. He progressed through the entire system all the way up to the majors the summer he was drafted. Although he struggled at the major league level, he looked like a strong candidate to win a spot in the rotation the next spring. Unfortunately his injury problems already started and his major league career was over before it really got started.I believe he works in real estate now in Arizona. If you google him, you will see it.
  14. Not if Will Ohman has anything to say about it.
  15. a lot of scouts think he's already too big to play SS Wood is listed at 6'3". ARod is the same height and that didn't hurt him at all. Ripken Jr. was 6'4" and he was good for a while too. A lot of scouts in the Angels organization think Wood would be ML average at SS (defensively). I'll take their word as they seemingly know what they're doing over there. He could play it well enough to be an asset to our offense that is for sure.
  16. It means we will have to walk a guy before Fielder homers to lose today.
  17. Theriot for starting SS! You actually think Izturis is a better option? No. I think all our options suck. Z for Brandon Wood, please. Trading a top 3 pitcher in the NL for a single prospect, is a bad idea. I never meant that was the full trade idea, just that those were the necessary pieces. Izzy and Ronny aren't going to work out. Theriot is nothing special. At best he's a poor man's Freel. Z's due for a major arm injury in the near future. brandon wood will not be a shortstop in the major leagues He will be far more valuable than either Cedeno or Izturis, even if he is butchering the spot.
  18. Theriot for starting SS! You actually think Izturis is a better option? No. I think all our options suck. Z for Brandon Wood, please. Trading a top 3 pitcher in the NL for a single prospect, is a bad idea. That's why we get them to throw in santana and weaver
  19. Someone invents baseball Chicago gets a franchise in the national league Chicago wins two world series Everything goes to hell, forever
  20. I don't think Lou finishes the year. I think after a month more of this crap he quits.
  21. Yeah, I just had a flash of how Mark must be feeling about all this. Imagine the disappointment he's going through right now. I do feel bad for the guy. This is a giant, who is now fallen. Yeah I imagine this is killing him. The really sad thing is we are so snakebitten as a team, if the Twins pick Prior is there any doubt he has 2-3 Cy Youngs and Joe Mauer would have Luis Montanezed out at AA?
  22. were expecting news on his season being over any day now. Yeah probably. I wish they would get it over with and just break us the news now.
  23. I think we have tortured Mark enough. Let's do him a favor and trade him to the Cardinals so he can resume being great.
