  1. Uh, there's been at least 3 IU fans just in the last page say that IU is a deeply flawed team. How is that arrogant or delusional? I do think IU basketball fans can be very arrogant at times, but that was the wrong time to put that comment in. Most of the posts lately about IU have been anything but arrogant. Maybe he was making a reference to the post that claimed IU is as talented as anyone in the country, when in fact they are not. I would venture to say they are not the most talented team in the conference, a very bad one this year.
  2. You are not as talented as any team in America. Kansas might be able to field two teams as talented as yours.
  3. Dumbass. Same old Illinois basketball. Cant make free throws and cant make a jumpshot. When your leading scorer has only 7-8 points that says it all. Just pathetic. Same old Bruce Weber basketball. We have never been this bad before. Even the probation years were better than this. Our 98 team at least had Cory Bradford and Sergio McClain. IG, you hear Griffey verballed to Weber yesterday? Supposdely was in the Champaign paper yesterday. IF true, the future cannot get here fast enough. Heres the link http://www.news-gazette.com/blogs/basketblog/2008/01/31/griffey_to_illinois I saw it. I am ready for signing day. Let's get these guys signed. Or lets get them in AP classes, lots of AP classes.
  4. He is tenacious on defense. He also has teeth that would make Gary Busey jealous. I really think that E'Twaun Moore will be the type of kid who has a good frosh year then will explode by at least his junior year. That kid is oozing talent. I've been more and more impressed with both Moore and Hummel as the season has gone by. There's no question that Moore is an incredible shooter. I was really high on Martin early in the year, but he's been very inconsistent and can't seem to stay out of foul trouble. A freshman in the big ten is going to be in foul trouble if they get to play. our refs are easily the worst in america.

  7. Ryan Bowen rules It was funny that of all the guys on the court for both teams, he was about the least likely to play in the NBA, and I think only Ray Allen has him beat. I went to high school with him. I was a frosh when he was a senior. He wouldn't even had been offered at Iowa if Raef LaFrentz hadn't chosen the Jayhawks. He probably would have went to Arizona. At least that was the buzz at the school. Even though he always wanted to be a Hawkeye.
  8. I'm really looking forward to two years from now when Moore, Hummel, Martin, and Johnson are juniors. Grant will be a senior that year, so Purdue could have a very strong and experienced starting five. I've said it before though, Johnson has got to put on some weight. One of these days he's just going to disappear through a crack in the floorboards. How is your recruiting the next couple of years? Also don't sell Chris Kramer short, the kid can play. The two guys they have lined up for next season are Lewis Jackson (a 5'9 PG) and Ryne Smith (a 6'3 SG). Jackson appears to be solid, while there doesn't appear to be much hype surrounding Smith. I haven't followed recruiting beyond next season, although it would be nice if they targeted another post player (ideally a center). The thing is, they only lose one guy after this year, and that's Terrance Crump. They lose four more after next season, and only two of those - Calasan and Green - are guys that play a decent amount. Kramer's a solid player. The kid kind of annoys me though. That's probably due to the fact that he loves to drive the lane and draw fouls, but he can't hit free throws. I know all about Lewis Jackosn, forgot you guys got him. I think he will be a very good player for you. Bruce didn't want him. I guess he didn't want another better guard to have to bench in favor of Chester Frazier. I wonder how DMac and Legion will like sitting behind Chester next year? I like the fact that Kramer is an in your face defender though.
  9. Ryan Bowen rules

  11. I think we have a lot more room for a better year than last year. Soriano missed a month last year. For what a month, Ramirez didn't hit any homers? He also missed a couple weeks. Lee went a half season forgetting how to drive the ball. Zambrano had his worst year as a pro. Fukudome will have to be an upgrade over Floyd. Soto, even if he tanks, will be better than what we had at that spot last year. Rich Hill should only get better. As for the Brewers. I doubt Fielder can get much better. If Braun improves his offense they should just rename the MVP trophy. Corey Hart and JJ Hardy had great years, I want to see them do that again. Bill Hall will be better. Rickie Weeks will be better. Just how good is Gallardo? I still like our chances to take the division.
  12. Don't lump the fans in with Larry Clisby and the rest of the awful radio crew. But hey, it's nice to know that I'm whiny. Purdue had a few games earlier this year where every little thing was being called against both teams. However, I will agree that they have let a lot of things slide the past 5-6 games. Last weekend against Wisconsin, there was a very obvious incident that should have been called a foul and nothing was called. It really wouldn't have mattered if they called it a block or a charge (although it should have been a charge against Purdue), but something should have been called considering how hard the contact was. Agreed. Well, that explains the "whiniest fans in the Big Ten" comment. I actually have a lot of friends that are/were IU fans. A lot of them also boycotted IU basketball, but their boycott started the exact moment Knight was replaced. Purdue is a darn good team that is only going to get better in a few years. I don't find them or their fans at all whiny.
  13. I actually watched all of the KU and Kstate game. That is once I turned to the Illinois game and saw Frazier was starting over McCamey again. Weber is such a joke.
  14. Tenessee, basketball powerhouse, lol.
  15. interesting. this might be a stupid question, but who is Loren Tate? do you have a link? thanks. Champaign News-Gazette. Illini Basketball reporter. His reliability isn't the greatest according to illiniboard.com It's a pay article, apparently he says this: Some things he knows: -NCAA is chasing complaints from other universities, -Quizing prep prospects that may have been contacted during dead periods, -Analyzing Senderoff dealings (including those 2 Ebanks), -Sampson calls weren't minor when taken in context to prior violations and him being president of Nat Assoc of Basketball Coaches. Here's what he thinks: Probation, Sampson and Greenspan are gone. Zero tolerance and lack of support by Alumni and former players brings down the house of cards. I think that's because RG didn't retire. Oh and Liggins didn't commit and it has been 3 weeks.
  16. Loren Tate says the NCAA is going to come down on the Indiana 3 Way call season before the end of this year. Wonder what penalties they come up with?
  17. Wait who beat Michigan State? Last I checked, Indiana had less losses before the game and was ranked higher. Oh ya, and Iowa beat Michigan State. And to whoever said Uconn was only missing "role" players and then goes on to say "well, the guy was their second leading scorer, but he's not important" Come on now. Just admit that the Big 10 sucks as a whole. Indiana also had less losses and a better ranking than UCLA. I guess using your logic they would be worse than IU? Laughable. Rankings don't mean a whole lot.
  18. That's why they were lackluster. I don't think either of those things are happening. Since Wisky has only lost two home games under Bo Ryan in conference play, and they both were to us, I don't see it happening either. Not sure who to root for. I generally root for Indiana, but for seeding purposes, I'd like to see all the Big 10 powers (IU, MSU, UW) lose one more time just in case KU stumbles. I don't see you losing more than 1. If any. My years of being a Cub fan make me less optimistic. Wed will be tough at KSU. We could also lose at Texas. I should eat crow now RE: aTm. I said they were better than IU, and I was way off. I'm no longer worried about them. Baylor could surprise us. KSU might get you, but I doubt it. They never beat you there. You aren't losing at home to anyone. Texas could beat you, but I can't see anyone out running and gunning you. I think you might lose one. For as bad as the Big 10 is, the Big 12 isn't too far behind.

Since Wisky has only lost two home games under Bo Ryan in conference play, and they both were to us, I don't see it happening either. I think Wisconsin's the best team in the Big 10. I still like MSU, but I think it is closer than I first thought. Wisconsin always plays so well. Bo Ryan could win with my Y league team.
  21. I think Villanova is a for sure also. You may be right. They can't afford any more losses like the one to Rutgers, though. Lol, yeah those hurt a little. I also like The Cuse to get in from that conference too, although losing Devendorf hurts.
  22. I think Villanova is a for sure also.

  24. FWIW, the players out for UConn were just role players. Granted Dyson was their 2nd leading scorer, but he's not nearly as important to that team as Thabeet, Adrien, Price, and possibly Robinson. That being said, yeah, really no excuse to lose at home today if you are IU. How sad is the Pac 10? Their second place team, Arizona St., lost by 25 to terrible Illinois at a neutral site. God the Pac 10 better hope for some favorable draws. Oh wait, basing a whole conference's value on one game is foolish.
  25. Wait who beat Michigan State?
