  1. I've read that book and it is a good one. I think it would make a good ESPN mini-series.No it wouldn't the Yankees and Sox are not prevelant enough in the book. Nice try though.
  2. Damn good book.
  3. What's Vitters supposed to do if the Cubs don't want to move him up? What level of play from him in Boise would make you think he could be something?? You're telling me if Vitters was born about a week later, then you'd be happy with his line? Oh he could do what Soto did last year. Get so sexy that the club has no choice but to promote him. Vitters has raked. I still like Moustakas too though. Both the Cubs and Royals should be happy with what each guy is doing.
  4. Well I wouldn't expect a guy with a Fukudome picture as his avatar to accept any warranted criticism of this team. Heh, really? Poor flustered little darling. You've had a busy night! Good one. You really got me. careful he might foe you. :rotfl: Thanks for the heads up. I was devastated to learn they he might foe me. How am I supposed to deal with that? Drink a lot.

  6. Agreed, I prefer the swing at everything Cubs of '06. Can we get those guys back?
  7. A 2R Edmondsbomb would be preferred. Back-to-back to end the game would make me feel good. I'll never forget when Alou and Sammy did that on 2 straight pitches. Danny Graves FTL.
  8. Or if Soto couldve put the ball in the outfield, that would've helped too. yep.
  9. sure wish old kosuck could have hit a medium depth flyball earlier.
  10. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the umpiring all over baseball has been far worse this year than in past years. yet they balk at replay. I bet they are afraid of that box being open.
  11. The guy he used to be 2 weeks ago and probably will be again next week? Hes streaky. Always has been, always will be. Sammy was, too. Who is better when red hot? Soriano now or Sammy in his prime? Sammy had 20 homers in one month. I would say him.
  12. The guy he used to be 2 weeks ago and probably will be again next week? Hes streaky. Always has been, always will be. Which shows thom is an idiot. He has been better this year then I ever remember him being. He is actually even seeing pitches at a better rate.
  13. I'm reminded of all the garbage pitchers who turned into Cy Young when they faced Dusty Baker's Cubs. I wonder how long this proven winner of a manager can get paid before people see a common denominator between Dusty and his pathetic, Bondsless offenses. He needs his horses. I have a feeling a lot of managers could look good if they had a .600 OBP 73-HR behemoth to slide into their lineup. Yeah, I also think a lot of guys would have done pretty well with a rotation of Wood, Prior, Clement, and Z. While they were all healthy.

  15. We aren't the team they are trying to surge to catch.
  16. Bill Hall is just god awful now.
  17. I would still take Milwaukee's. Mat Gamel is way better than anything the Pirates have, at least until Alvarez plays some professional games I also like Caleb Gindl, Cole Gillespie, Alcides Escobar, Angel Salome, Jeremy Jeffress, and Jonathan LuCroy. They are still pretty stacked. Oh and Tabata sucks. What has he slugged for his career, .350? No thanks. Gamel is not better than McCutchen, much less "way better", unless you're treating this as purely an OPS ranking while taking absolutely nothing else into account Tabata hit .300 in the FSL at 19 with a bum wrist; i'd gladly have him My main point is Milwaukee has a better system. Tabata slugged .310 this year, sure he has hit a bit since he went to Pit, but I am sure he will revert back to what he has done in the past. Gamel is a better hitter than McCutchen, thus I like him better as a prospect.

  19. who do you suggest we upgrade to? Mark Teixeira?
  20. Really wish our leadoff hitter was fast enough to score from second on a hit with two outs.
