    They won 116. Tied the '06 Cubs who were also choking dogs. Luckily in 1907 and 08 we replaced all of them.

The Cardinals made the playoffs and then won the world series, and you would take the 2008 Cubs, a team that failed to show up for even one inning and went home with the title "division winner"? That's some very strong kool aid there. Here's the question. If the ump calls Dave Roberts out at 2B in game 4 of the ALCS on a close play (which certainly could happen and is something completely out of their control) are the Red Sox a choking team? They would have been swept by their rivals and would have lost in the ALCS two years in a row. How can you say that the best teams always advance when they rely on an umpires call of a bang bang play to not get swept? Gross that prolly leads to another Cards title. I like the way that one ended. Strangly those guys who won 105 games coulnd't get it done in the playoffs. If only they had found away like the '06 guys.

    You should consider talking to somebody about your obsession with their recent playoff struggles. You realize this is a Cubs forum and that is the team's biggest hurdle in recent years, right? I guess I'm just interested in the Cubs getting to the World Series. The Cubs playoff crapiness is the single most important issue in the context of a Cubs forum. I don't think games from 2003 really have any impact on what is going on with the Cubs right now. It's really weird how I've seen quite a few posts by you and every single one of them seems to be associated with your perception of a mental hurdle surrounding the teams struggles in the playoffs. They are on the verge of going under .500 but you are worried about games played months and years ago. The obsession with those three games is what got us into this ridiculous situation to begin with. They were far more important than the 162 that preceeded them when we were the best team in baseball.
