  1. Dempster's so blah. Whatever the offense gives him he's just a bit worse everytime out.
  2. So where does this put a guy like Harper? In your mind is he number 2 right now? Or does he have to sign? I think he has to sign. Otherwise, what's to stop me from considering Yu Darvish or Aroldis Chapman, neither of whom might ever pitch in the MLB? True, I just figure with the American kids its kind of different? Where does the kid the Cardinals are going to sign fit in? Same place as Michael Inoa when the Athletics signed him. So fairly high right away? That sucks for us.

  5. i'd like to see JoePa suit up in pads I promise you he could still hit decent.
  6. How awesome would it be if all sports had coaches in unis? Stan Van Gundy.
  7. Awesome with the bases loaded LaRussa lets Kinney hit. Then the next inning pulls him.
  8. No one pitched to him in '06. But the Jeffs became light out and Yadi Molina started slapping bombs. The 2009 Cardinals dont have the supporting cast that the 2006 Cards did. Rick Ankiel and Ryan Ludwick are not Jim Edmonds and Scott Rolen. You gotta remember where those two were at in '06. Don't confuse them for the '4 versions of themselves.
  9. I think it's the reason they have to keep his buddy LaRussa and add a bat to help him.

  11. I would just send him down. You know how the DFA ends. He ends up with the Cardinals and helps beat us a couple of times this year.
  12. Wanna bet? 2-0 Cards already. Can't pitch to Pujols. Someday teams will figure this out. 3-2 Twins now thanks the Brendan Harris, but yeah, theres really no point pitching to Pujols when hes surrounded by so much garbage. It's just like the teams that were dumb enough to let Sosa crush them in '01.

  14. No we can't do that. We gave him a two year contract. I'm aware of his contract. So the Cubs are financially obligated to pay him through the end of next season. So what? It would be better to pay him to do nothing than pay him to "contribute" to the team. I agree with you, but no way is Hendry cutting this bum until at least next year. Look at some of the crap we should have cut and didn't.

  16. Mauer off today. He played all three against us. Luckily they are facing Wellemeyer and should be able to win anyways.
  17. But he doesn't bat left-handed. And he's terrible. I'd rather play with a 24 man roster than with So Taguchi. World series winner. 2x. Intangibles, fundamentals, feel for the game, other cliches... Plus if he were a woman Tony LaRusa would date him. How can you put a measurement on that?
  18. At least there isn't a Kazmir for V. Zambrano trade yet. Although I fear it is coming when Jim panics and sends Vitters away for a couple months of Matt Holliday.
  19. I'm going to go out on a limb and bet that he goes back to sucking soon. I look at it as he's doing what Hardy should be doing. I imagine both will return to the mean at some point.
  20. I kinda read that to mean that Sori has been playing hurt and through his injuries in order to try and help the team. Whereas Milton takes every other day off. I could see where Soriano would question Milton giving 100 percent. Even if Sori playing through the injury has hurt the team.
  21. This guy almost has to be a lock for a top 100 right? He's young for his league, he has tremendous tools and his bat is performing already. he doesn't have much power or patience and his defense (while they like his tools) is inconsistent. i liked him a lot coming into this year and am very happy with how he's performed, but i don't know that he's a lock for top 100. He made the Futures Game so Baseball America must like him some. But, yeah would like to see him take a few more walks.
  22. Vitters needs as many at bats as possible so of course the Cubs will have him batting 7th. Pretty sure the Cubs don't have anything to do with it, just our manager trying to find a way to get him going would be my guess. The Ridling one confuses me more since he is hitting .295 this month and leads the team in RBI. The Cubs should be involved with it. He's the Cubs top prospect, he's slumping big deal, he needs to get as many at bats as possible. With him missing a good chunk of the last few years the last thing they need to do is bat him 7th where he will get less at bats.
  23. I think Lou's trying to light a fire under his ass.
