  1. How long is Fran locked in at Iowa? I wonder if he views that as a final destination type job? He has done a great job of fixing that program, I have to think other schools would love to have him.
  2. Iowa is currently No. 15 in Pomeroy, so they're not exactly some deep darkhorse. They're very deep and thus well-positioned to survive both the micro (individual games) and macro (entire conference schedule) attrition that is the Big Ten season. Their depth also allows them versatility. They finished 10-10 in Big Ten games last year, in an exceedingly strong league. That included a four-point loss to Indiana (No. 3), two three-point losses to Michigan State (No. 9), and a four-point, double overtime loss at Wisconsin (No. 13). I said last year that I thought they could be top-10 good this year; they've lost two tough games against very good teams so far (I figured with more experience they'd turn the tough losses into wins this year -- they haven't yet and some teams never move past the "losing close to top teams" phase). I don't think they'll win the league but I would not be surprised to see them finish second. I think they might be better than Ohio State as is. I really like them as a sweet sixteen type team, but I can't see them winning the conference. Still a very good team. I just think that Michigan State is winning the conference.
  3. Rice was very tough, quite impressed. Every game that goes by I become less convinced that Vonleh will have a sophomore year in Bloomington. Yeah he's pretty solid, I'd be surprised if he's back. Vonleh, I mean.
  4. Nanna Egwu 40 minutes. 2 rebounds. Vonleh kicked his butt. Rice is a stud tho, solid win.
  5. Egwu is our third best rebounder according to rate stats behind Ekey and Rice. While we are better with him on the court, I don't think we lose a ton when Morgan plays.
  6. Man I sure hope not.
  7. there is a God and he hates the Bears, Cubs, and Bulls We got 6 titles in 8 years. And look how we're paying for it. By having a top team for the last 4 years? Injuries happen.

  9. It's almost like an intelligent person would know to avoid facebook right now.
  10. I would assume that. Nothing I read mentions any discussion of him returning this year. Really tough break right before Big Ten season. Tourney might be hard to make without him. This is why you have to go pro if you're a lottery pick. That sucks.
  11. I don't see it happening. Love to be wrong though. They have beat 4 RPI Top 100 teams, hopefully those can become a couple Top 50's. Gone on the road and won 3 games. Have the #52 ranked schedule to this point. Really too bad the Valley is now so God awful (losing Creighton and adding Loyola). All they can do is keep winning games and see what happens. I worry that people will look at Wichita's case as similar to Gonzaga being a number one seed in which they lost in the 2nd round(I refuse to call the round of 32 the 3rd round) and use that as reason to not award another good team from a smaller conference a one seed which ironically it was WSU that beat the Zags. Regardless of seed Wichita has a legitimate top 10 squad that has as much potential as anybody to make another deep run in the tournament. I just wish the MVC could go about improving itself as there are some programs with potential but currently struggling financially. If there are any college basketball free agents in Chicago feel free to support Loyola as the MVC really is a fun league to watch in my opinion. :hello: I'm still mad that Andrew Wiggins didn't have the balls to play with his title brother there. They're legit.
  12. don't see us winning out in the elite SEC. enjoy your 10 seed. I think you're as good as anyone not named Kentucky or Florida. I'm not sure right now you wouldn't beat Kentucky, obviously they could improve a lot by the time you play. I think we were very lucky to get this one.
  13. So we seem decent on defense, but man does our offense suck at times. Nice win tonight though, now win out Missouri.
  14. That's what I keep hearing here. They were mentioning for nick Franklin and a prospect. It seems like they want to move him. Probably for money to spend on Shields.
  15. With this the Royals will almost certainly have a higher payroll than the Chicago Cubs. I don't think he'll be an everyday guy by the end of the contract, but he should still be able to fake it at several positions that he's not a black hole in their budget. Even after they trade Butler for nothing? Which most down here assume is happening next.
  16. we are not good. And we seem to be getting worse. Your guys don't fit together very well right now.
  17. Florida on a 21 to 0 run against Kansas. Impressive.
  18. Couldn't find it on tv It was on directv. But the guide had the wrong start time. When I tuned in we were already up 25 at halftime. I don't think that showed us much though. I think auburn is awful.
  19. I really wish that we would have signed him and gave him one inning at home last year.
  20. I like Ackley as a target, but is that really selling high on Lake? Ackley had some value as a bounce back target last year, but he was pretty bad again last year (save a few games at AAA). Guess I'm not sure what Lake's value is. Maybe Ackley is good value. I agree it makes sense from the Cubs perspective, in either case. Ackley reminds me some of Alex Gordon. Is there enough in the numbers to hope he can have a career resurgence like Alex did?
  21. Has Lamb regained any velocity? Or should I not get at all excited about him? Honestly don't know, and it's just a name some random poster/fan threw out there. I just posted it because I desperately need to talk about possible moves/trades. :) What do you think about the overall package though (substitute somes names for pieces #3 and #4)? I'd definitely take that. Yeah I like it, love it if lamb has a chance to be anything still.

  23. You didn't like when he looked off our best player, turned it over, and then ran away from his man within two feet from the hoop to give up the lead?
  24. Abrams and Egwu were amazing tonight, thanks guys. Thanks also coach for forgetting about Tate.
  25. Red Grange, FTW Willie Heston
