  1. If we happened to beat Michigan, would that get us in? Or do we need one more after that? We'd need no bid thieves and even still would be left to the whims of what the committee values this year. (R/N record good, bad losses bad) Should be a lock with 3. Time to root for all tournament locks and Illini opponents for the next 12 hours Ugh those Ga Tech, NW, and Purdue games are going to haunt us.

  3. I really only like Vonleh and Ferrell for IU, so while you have more talent, it's not a ton more.
  4. He's a mid major star, will be better if he accepts his lesser role next year. He just has no idea what constitutes a good shot Some of it is how bad our offense is and he's forced to shoot crap. Some of it is awful choices.

  6. That Malcolm Hill charge was epic. How do you charge a guy who is laying on the ground?
  7. Henry was a 4 star in HS though, he's talented on offense, just doesn't defend well.
  8. But they won't. Seems like one more year for OP. I hate that this win made me slightly excited for another year with Garrett and Hamilton and hopes of at least competing for an NIT bid. Won't happen. If it was going to happen, it would have been this year with Young and Melvin still around. Despite their flaws, they are eons better than anyone in the pipeline. Unless Garrett somehow becomes a lottery pick next year, DePaul will suck badly again. Mychael Henry should help them out.
  9. theres almost no doubt I guess it comes down to if Jalen wants to play immediately or sit behind Walton for a year or two. Being a Chicago kid, I am sure he will go sit. I've heard he's a big MSU lean..... Really? I keep hearing if Duke or NC offers he's going back home.

  11. Gee I wonder if that blog ran with that story with Jalen Brunson in mind? What a joke.
  12. I hope Beilein bought Groce dinner afterwards.
  13. Jesus, who ever plays Michigan next you are welcome. We are getting all their makes out of them tonight.
  14. But, on the flip side, had he stayed he would have been drafted over by younger kids with more potential. It's kind of like a never ending cycle since so many GMs prefer the younger player with more upside.
  15. Yeah, I really don't get how all the teams are worth so much. I am not smart enough to understand that stuff, but it seems to me some of the bad franchises wouldn't be worth anything, but they are.
  16. I'd prefer losing 4 teams before messing with the age rule. Right now there are too many teams and the less roster spots would probably curb many of the early entries as well. Well maybe not, but it should curb them anyways. Plus that first year they move back the age process that will be an awful draft class. No freshman and just the leftover upperclassmen.
  17. In Parks' chat today, he stated that Baez is more of a generational talent than Buxton. But, he added with a much higher risk.
  18. So the Purdue and Northwestern losses are going to haunt us, huh? Also: First time since 1947 that we've held teams under 50 points in 4 consecutive games. Four games ago, we were just inside the top 50 in Kenpom defense. I think we'll probably enter the top 20 after this game.
  19. Mike Trout is where babies come from.
  20. So for the second time in three years we play only at Iowa. I hate the new conferences.
  21. At least it gives us something to look forward to. Hill and Nunn look like future All BIG material. I am very excited for those two to make the sophomore jump. I am also very excited to see Black next year. Love that Hill knows how to get to the FT line. And makes free throws once there. He's a refreshing change of pace.

  23. Matthews to kentucky. College sports are just not fun.
  24. i was listening to a podcast or maybe just the radio? a little while ago and they were basically saying MSU's messed up their next few seasons fooling around with Chicago (J Parker, C Alexander), saying area kids just want to get paid, either directly (UK) or indirectly (KU, Duke?) and UM has been better served abandoning that avenue altogether since dabbling with Patrick Beverley forever ago lol, that's such sour grapes. Every fan base does it when they don't get the kids they want. Oddly enough, no one ever can produce any actual evidence. And the idea that any school is "directly" paying anyone is lunacy. I don't deny that there's all sorts of dirty stuff happening everywhere, in every program. But no program is dumb enough to "directly" pay a player. UK has to pay kids least of all. Nothing's cooler than going to Kentucky. And ever since LeBron and co banded together in Miami, forming dream teams is pretty popular too. Yet, Self is right with UK on the recruiting trail since Jerrance and his uncle Wes got into the fold. This after everyone in the KC area was starting to wonder about Self's recruiting a few years back. I think it's clear that if you are in good with WWW you are going to recruit like gang busters. Whole lot of good that did Illinois. That's because Weber's talent evaluation was lacking. We were getting the guys we wanted though.
