  1. Hendry had eyes only for Milton. Hell even Lou's guy, Ibanez, would have been better.
  2. I kinda agree with this. I really don't get the difference between this and the Darrell Arthur spot. Did the NCAA prove Memphis knew about the SAT? Cause in both cases it seems like the NCAA Clearinghouse approved the kids?
  3. It's funny cause the hispanic players can't read to be offended. Or won't talk back. If he's lazy, what is Rich Harden?
  4. Hopefully it ends with Soriano in the intensive care unit of the local hospital. Add Soto. His cholesterol level will land him there. Soto's a tard. He coming in out of shape cost him millions. Idiot.
  5. 1 hit. You gotta give it to Jim, he really fixed the offense. We should be more lefthanded.
  6. Theriot isn't even walking anymore. He's regressing.
  7. I came into the season bitter about an atrocious off-season, and surprisingly my bitterness is even worse now. I didn't think that would be possible. Yeah I think most of us hated the offseason. I also think most of us thought we were good enough to get by it. We weren't. Yes. I think the general consensus was that they definitely wouldn't be as good as last year, but that they didn't have to be to still win the division.I can remember getting taken to task for suggesting that they weren't. Which they still would have been if not for the Cardinals getting Matt Holliday and Chris Carpenter pretending that he isn't made of glass for a year.

  9. You really gotta hand it to the Cubs. I came in to this year pretty excited about the team. Now, I can't wait for it to end.
  10. That's not how things work out.
  11. So a guy who shouldn't probably have even be let in the Hall of Fame now has the right to voice his opinion on everything. Awesome, thanks for putting this clown in.
  12. What do they have to do with Memphis? There's just as many examples of schools losing high profile coaches and still maintaining elite levels. There a lot of examples of [expletive] conference schools losing high profile coaches and not missing a beat? The Self to Weber transition was pretty seamless--and then Weber started getting talent commensurate with the rest of the conference. I don't think Cal left any Deron Williams' around for this guy though.
  13. The only thing similar about UMass and Memphis is the coach who left. Memphis had success well before Cal arrived. I never said we wouldn't miss a beat without Cal, sure this next season is going to be challenging but there's a lot of talent still on the team. And like I mentioned, the major recruits still have Memphis on their list. There's still a very good chance the program can stay on an elite level. Umass has success before Cal as well. Maybe you have heard of Julius Erving?
  14. What do they have to do with Memphis? There's just as many examples of schools losing high profile coaches and still maintaining elite levels. Really? You could be right, but I can't think there are that many. Pitt with Dixon comes to mind. Who else do you have? Not that this proves his point but Butler and potentially Gonzaga come to mind. Moreso the former as far as "high-profile" coaches go. I don't think the level of success at those schools really are what he thinks, or hopes, Memphis will still attain though.
  15. Did the "punishment" mean that WWWes is gone? If so, Memphis is done. I thought Calipari leaving meant that. Not sure, the guy that took over is a Cal guy. Memphis is still a Nike school. I think there is a chance that he still throws them a bone or two. But, the penalties and interest of the NCAA now on the program might run him away. He was with Cal one season. He's worked under two very successful coaches and is considered to be a great recruiter. He's already received a commitment from a top 5 senior in Will Barton. Joe Jackson, a top 15 player has Memphis as his top choice as well. Combine those two with Elliot Williams and you have a very good nucleus for the 2010-11 season. You should still rack up a ton of wins in the conference your in, I wonder if you will still be as good in the tourny as you were under Cal? The big thing will be this season, imo. Those committed kids are doing so under the pretense of what Memphis was. You have to maintain that to keep realing those kids in. You have a pretty solid year this year and your new coach is as good of a recruiter as you say you should do ok.

  19. I believe it this time, why else do you think we got the Hendry is sad pic and article saying he's taking the blame? He's alreadying positioning himself.
  20. Why are we playing Koyie Hill on the regular?
  21. Imagine if Kansas had not made that last-second shot. Memphis would have had their national championship rescinded correct? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe then they just leave it alone. Much like they did with K and the Corey Magette, Myron Piggie situation. Greg Doyel had a nice article about that.
  22. Yep, the '27 Yankees and some of those '30's ear Philadelphia A's teams pale in comparison. They could pass the greatest teams ever, the 00's Cubs. 1900s that is.
  23. I know, and I cant believe all the Cubs fans here at this Cubs board, arent bowing down and kissing the ass of every last Redbird. How dare Cubs fans not give the BFIB, and the BTIB their respect. We all may be burned in hell if we dont give them their respect. Im thinking of changing my username to "Brendon Ryan Great White Hope" as the ultimate show of respect to their team and fans. The only solace I take is maybe this offseason we will try to get more mustaches and skinheads.
  24. Come on Keener, join in the celebration. This is perhaps the best team ever built.
  25. I forgot that defense doesn't matter. My bad. It better matter a ton for Rasmus to be better than Fukudome. Also Aramis Ramirez gets no mention? I guess he isn't very good either? He's been injured? And yes, Rasmus has been absolutely phenomenal defensively in the outfield- the same goes for BRyan at SS. Both are amongst the top 3 defenders at their position in all of MLB. Great Fukudome is among the top hitters at his position in all of baseball. I would say the only two better have been Victorino and Kemp. That and he's a pretty good outfielder as well. I don't use the defensive metrics as no one really agrees upon which is the best one.
