YESYESYESYES It may be more hope than actual speculation, but I've heard Mitchell and Pressey on board make us players for Beal next year. Back the [expletive] off. Seems fair to me. You can keep that goofy looking Griffey dude, and we'll take the guard who wants to run up and down the floor. I don't care how he looks, as long as he can play.

Yep, I thought he was ok last year, but could have been better. But the announcers on ESPN360 said he lead the Big 10 in assists. Am I the only one who did not know that?

He can't defend. For a team likely to struggle with defense more than scoring, there's no place for Cole on the court. i think the zone defense is designed to get him on the court. but watching him out there, he's not terrible, at least any more than tisdale. I like Cole's shooting ability a lot, but I just can't see Weber sticking with the zone idea. He is one of the most stubborn coaches in the country, and if it does not start to mesh soon it would not surprise me to see him trash the idea all together. The defense will improve a lot within the next month, and I don't think it is anything we need to be too concerned with yet. I only saw a little bit of the game, but D-Mac has a quicker burst this year with the weight loss. I like the attacking mentality of the freshmen, and I think Paul will be able to create offense off of the dribble come Big Ten season. I'm still not a huge Tisdale fan, but I am hoping he can hold up this year, and average somewhere around 11 and 7. DMac almost banged on the one kid, just missed the dunk. The talented freshman pushing him is the best thing that could have happened to him.

If we are emptying the farm, meaning Vitters and Castro getting traded, Hendry might as well include Jackson, Carpenter or Cashner and try to get Verlander involved. Or we could just fire Hendry and not blow up a pretty good farm. If we are trading both Castro and Vitters we better be getting back a Hanley Ramirez type talent. -
There is no way we are cheating with Weber running things. Or else we probably would hav elanded a lot of the Illinois kids who had their hands out the past few years and ran away from Champaign.

I liked Illinois better when Weber didn't like recruiting. Your really not gonna like Illinois next year and the year after then.

I am super impressed with Paul and DJ. The best part is they aren't supposed to be as good as Jereme and Crandall.

I don't think anybody has a good idea of what has happened in the David Williams situation. I don't know why he would be explaining his decision soon if it was something like Indiana chased him off, so it seems like many people are leaning towards personal problems or wanting to stay closer to home for some reason. However, he might not have wanted to come into what seemed like to him to be a hostile environment either. I think it's way too early to make any kind of good guess though. Could be, just reminds me of the way David Palmer didn't end up at Illinois. If you offer the guy, you should have to honor that offer as much as the players should honor their commitment. IMO.

these mean more than verbals, right? whats the penalty if they back out? They cannot back out now. If they want to get out I believe they have to sit out two years. Not sure on that though.

the Meyers Leonard letter may prove to be more important, the kid is a stud. Really? More important than Jereme? I assume cause Jereme is likely to be gone in two years as opposed to Myers staying all 4?

Oh and Evan Turner almost had a triple double at the half. 12 points, 12 boards, 8 dimes at the half.

Anyone who makes a big deal about anyone getting caught with weed deserves scorn, regardless of the race of the person that got caught. If you are making a big deal about the weed alone, I agree, but if getting caught puts that person's availability in peril somehow whether it be by league suspension or jail, or especially if the weed was being used before or during driving, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with laying on the criticism. my point was that the initial poster's attitude was "oh, that wacky Lincecum and his pot", where there are plenty of other players who would not be let off so easily in the same situation Kinda like when your poor and odd your crazy. But, if you are wealthy, you are just eccentric.

Brooks has played 7 games this year, lets see if he can keep this pace up a bit first.

hahaha yeah he's somewhat of a Kramer. If he's on your team you love him, if not you hate him. He whines a lot and does a lot of borderline dirty stuff. Sometimes his whining goes overboard and I get annoyed with it. In the playoffs last year he got on my nerves because he was complaining about something on every play. i actually love him and landry, but not when we go against them. actually, with mcgrady in a suit, the rockets have a pretty likable team. I love aaron brooks far too much. Brooks is my favorite and our best PG since ... ever. He is a lot of fun to watch. I would say he is hands down the quickest player in the league. Steve Francis was way better than Aaron Brooks when he first got to Houston.
