  1. We could have used that money to sign about 10 Starlin Castros.
  2. holy [expletive]... he really just said that? Said the only reason he wasn't playing was because of the big money contracts that Soriano, Byrd, and Kosuke have. Then went on to try a point the finger at Lou or the GM at who is making that decision, then said "shouldn't he (Lou) be putting the best lineup out there to win everyday!?!" Ah hey dumb [expletive], Soriano/Byrd/Kosuke is the lineup that gives us the best chance to win everyday. Oh come on. Colvin hit .450 this spring.
  3. holy [expletive]... he really just said that? there is a reason this idiot is doing Reds games guys.
  4. So uh, yeah, where does the, where does the red dragon lay his head? Damn I haven't watched it in a little while, but I loved it.
  5. tom morello is a real cool dude, except he beat that stripper/prostitute up in Made. that was a real low class move huh? he was in the movie Made, which for my money, is better than swingers. Are you the White Dragon?
  6. Good turn back into a pumpkin so we can get Z back where he belongs.
  7. Bass can't change their stripes, dood.
  8. ;That's what happens when you are rushed. You miss out on the little things.
  9. "Thom Brenneman has a very small penis." -Illiniguy and Mrs. Thom Brenneman
  10. the only reason he's talking about it is because tonight there are more Cubs fans listening to him than Reds fans.
  11. Man that homer was big. That decreases the odds of Lou sitting him.
  12. Yeah that's like the Yankees sedning Joba Chamberlain or Phil Hughes to the pen at first. Or the Twins sending Johan Santana or Francisco Liriano there. Or the Cardinals sending Adam Wainwright there. Good teams never do that.
  13. I'm convinced they did this to get me to pay for mlb tv. Congrats it worked.
  14. Stanton is going to be a good one. I think he will be better than Heyward, but whatever. I also love what KC has going right now. Michael Montgomery is as good a pitcher as anyone not named Strasburg. Hosmer and Moustakas are both raking as well. Although I would like to see more power from Hosmer.
  15. 2003 hurt the most for me. We were so close. That year pretty much has me in the mindset of it will never happen. All the stars were alligned and we just blew it.
  16. Read on another site that Cashner is heading to Iowa, Vitters to Tenn, and Flaherty to Daytona. Anyone heard anything on this?
  17. I know he was AD at Kansas several years ago. He's there in some capacity again. When they introduced Turner Gill he was there as well. I spoke to him a bit that night. Nice guy.
  18. What other dead weight? Besides, odds are Lou was gone once his contract was up after this year anyway if they didn't contend (ie - making it past the 1st round of the playoffs), so I doubt some epic tanking was necessary. Same goes for Hendry, too. At least an epic tanking would get us higher draft picks next June. True, though it's baseball, so it's not as imperative to get those spots. A tanking would generally just suck. If tanking nets the Cubs Anthony Rendon, it'd be worth the pain. We can't tank that hard the Royals are gonna have that covered. They just sent Alex Gordon back down to AAA so they can teash him to play left field. Cause you gotta get Chris Getz in that lineup everyday.
  19. Yeah, I really don't see him keeping his job if they don't have at least a deep playoff run. He's only got 1 year left on his deal and it's not going to cost much to give him the boot. Yep, I just really don't want the team to hang around the edges of a playoff spot long enough for him to make a horrible trade to help this years team out.

Same goes for Hendry, too. At least an epic tanking would get us higher draft picks next June. True, though it's baseball, so it's not as imperative to get those spots. A tanking would generally just suck. It may not be imperative, but it's certainly beneficial. I'm not rooting for failure, but if failure does occur, I hope it's epic so Hendry can stop wrecking this team and maybe we have a better crack at some good players that can help us 3 or so years down the road. A 78-win season doesn't do much. It gets us middle-of-the-pack draft picks, and Hendry may be able to talk his way into another chance, citing god-knows-what as the reason the team underperformed instead of his massive incompetence. An epic failure would take that option (however small it may be) away from him. I want Lou gone at the end of this season, I want Hendry gone, and with Lee and probably Lilly gone I want a GM that will spend those monies wisely to get us a few good players that we can build around. Hendry is gone after this year. Anything short of a World Series win that is.
  21. Wait, Nicklas Lidstrom is still playing?
  22. "I guess it can happen to anybody" Yeah Bob, its hard to believe that a former catcher turned starter could actually get hit hard in the big leagues. He's such a moron.
  23. Really nice series. We've played very well.
