  1. Uthoff? Dan Poneman saw him last week and thinks he's a stud. I'm always a little skeptical of kids who don't have a single high-major offer after their junior year who suddenly "blow up". I saw him a couple times last year and thought he would be a really good MVC player. Obviously he's improved and I wouldn't mind him at Iowa. He's very skilled and is a very good passer. He's a good shooter but I think that gets hyped up more because he's 6'8. I just don't know how he gained the athleticism to suddenly guard 3's in the Big Ten and he's 30+ pounds from being a 4. He sounds like Semrau from that description. Semrau is not 30 pounds too light to guard anyone. I also don't think Richard is a great passer either.
  2. Am I the only one who still wants Shaw more than Davis?
  3. Yeah there is no way that the Bartman incident doesn't get covered. It's a pretty big story in baseball in the 00's.
  4. Hahaha, holy hell. That is indescribable amounts of awesome.Yeah it was amazing. God I miss those Bulls.
  5. The free board on that site is awful. Plus the last place I'm going to look for anything rational about Iowa or any other school is on another conference team's message board. I still can't believe they offered Uthoff though. According to his AAU coach Illinois has two spots for '11 left, a big and a guard. Meaning if Uthoff decides tomorrow that he wants it, they won't have a spot left for Shaw or any of their other inside '11 targets. That isn't the case on Uthoff, he was offered before Henry committed. I am betting he does not have an unconditional offer now. Bruce has been doing first come first srve. Seems Henry took that scholly. From what I've heard the four that we have unconditional offers out to now are Mike Shaw, Chasson Randle, Anthony Davis, and Quincy Miller. Now we might end up with Uthoff, but I would imagine it is only if we miss on those others.
  6. As a sometimes insomniac, I have some time to read a lot of boards on the internet when my wife and daughter are asleep. While doing so tonight I came across the Iowa Scout board. Did you know according to them all of Illinois recruits from '09-'11 are no good. They attacked every single one of them except for Richmond, who I don't think they knew we had. One guy said Weber has screwed up by offering so many talented guards becuase only two can play at once. Awesome stuff. I hope we keep recruiting too many awesome players even though you can only play a few at a time and they keep doing what they've been doing.
  7. I heard Burns say himself on a Marlins broadcast that he was going to deal quite a bit in the 10th inning with how a small market team had to try and compete in the world of the big markets in baseball today. I would much rather see that than a whole two hours about the Yankees vs. Red Sox.
  8. haha, i remember rodman just [expletive] with frank brickowski in that series, it was vintage rodman. When he just turned and stared at him instead of watching the free throws being shot it was amazing. Was living in Frank's head.
  9. Looks pretty meh to me. MSU and Duke appears to be the only marquee matchup. This is kind of disappointing. Illinois-UNC should be a good game as well.
  10. Ryan Bowen is all kinds of awesome. But I just wonder why he wants to do the video coordinator thing, when I imagine he could have gotten on as an NBA assistant?
  11. Stevie Wonder He's blind not [expletive], he saw it coming.
  12. I never said that the 2010 team was better than the Cavs without LeBron. I said the Cavs would finish around 4th without him. The Bulls got what, 8th? Huh?
  13. Yeah, because they had Michael Jordan. Where do you think the Cavs would be with Delonte West playing 35 minutes a game in place of LBJ? I still think without LeBron that Mo Williams Delonte West Antawn Jamison Anderson Varejo Shaquille O'Neal get around 4th in the East. Easily. Well the Bulls only performed 2 games worse the year after Jordan was forced to "retire" so I guess LBJ > MJ You think when the new Mailman is about to retire he will cherrypick a team to try and steal a ring with?
  14. Easily.
  15. What are their field goal numbers and free throw ones?
  16. So is Anderson Varejo JJ Hickson isn't He's not great, but in '88 the Bulls were freaking awful. Pippen and Grant were nothing. They won 50 games and were the 3 seed. Yeah, because they had Michael Jordan.
  17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988_NBA_Playoffs#Eastern_Conference Game 3 @ Chicago: Detroit 101, Chicago 79 Game 4 @ Chicago: Detroit 96, Chicago 77 Exact same age as LeBron too. Were the Bulls the overwhelming favorites to win it all in '88? I can't remember. Furthermore it isn't that Jordan can't do any wrong, it's more that LeBron is just massively overrated. Kobe is the closest thing to Mike and LeBron is a guy who could maybe benefit by shooting a few thousand jumpers everyday because when he starts to age and lose his freakish athletic ability, I think his game is gonna fall off big time. Yeah, I don't agree with that at all. You don't think that LeBron is a horrible jump shooter that relies mainly on being bigger and faster than everyone else?
  18. So is Anderson Varejo JJ Hickson isn't He's not great, but in '88 the Bulls were freaking awful. Pippen and Grant were nothing.
  19. So is Anderson Varejo
  20. lebron has a ton of talent around him right now? where is it? Who was better on the '88 Bulls team than Jamison, Mo Williams,Varejo, or Hickson. Keep in mind that Pippen and grant were not yet Pippen and Grant in '88.
  21. This year he put up 30/7/9 on 50% from the field and 77% from the line. So, about 65 less free throws and about 175 more rebounds. He's a great player, I am not trying to argue that. It would be foolish to do so. But, at this point I still think Kobe is more of a threat to the G.O.A.T. title than LeBron ever will be.
  22. They also got taken to 5 games by the 7 seed Bullets because they couldn't win in Washington. Ah, so LBJ is ahead of the MJ curve. Maybe his team is further ahead, but he as a player isn't. When is LeBron gonna have his 37 5 and 5 year? shoot 50 per from the field and 85 at the line?
  23. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988_NBA_Playoffs#Eastern_Conference Game 3 @ Chicago: Detroit 101, Chicago 79 Game 4 @ Chicago: Detroit 96, Chicago 77 Exact same age as LeBron too. i'm not a jordan apologist, because i think pippen was huge in those championship years, but detroit, was an overwhelming favorite and on their way to the finals, and then back-to-back championships in the following years. in this case, as well as the year before, the cavs are the overwhelming favorites getting punked at home. not to mention, James has been 27 since he stepped onto an NBA court. he's going to need another superstar. Of course Pippen was huge, he's like a top 15 player of all time. But in '88 he sure wasn't. LeBron has a ton of talent around him right now too and he still isn't going to get it done.
