  1. Probably Zook. This should certainly put them both on the hot seat for the coming seasons. It's Weber. Zook inherited a mess and has improved it a bit. Weber took over a great situation and has wrecked it. a successful football program is more important than a successful basketball program, though. That's true, but I am at least optimistic to see what we can do with these new assistants helping Zook. Ideal world they are both gone.

  3. Koyie Hill is awesome, it's amazing that we are able to keep him around for so cheap. This is why we should give Jim Hendry an extension. Koyie could be playing for any beer league softball team in America, but he sticks around because he loves Jim Hendry.
  4. His newest version has us landing Starling.
  5. We've all seen 6 titles and this team is pretty young. If that happens it won't break my heart.
  6. Kobe Bryant is a shell of himself. Nice work NBA.
  7. The National League REALLY sucks. The Cubs are 6th in OPS+ and 3rd in OPS. Man, that's terrible. Can we please get the juice back in baseball?
  8. How in the hell is their offense so good. Besides Rasmus, Pujols, and Holliday these guys are jokes.
  9. I hate Jim Hendry for Koyie Hill still being here.
  10. Maybe I should have used green font. It's way too soon to do anything but keep trotting Hayden out and hoping he starts to knock more rust off.
  11. I'm just going off of age. He's gotta be starting to slow down.
  12. Eric Gordon? I am not sure that I know who that is, and no way the Clippers trade him.
  13. How? What better package is out there? Frankly, I cannot imagine a better package -- or one even remotely close -- than Gasol and Bynum. If/when the Magic trade Howard, I almost guarantee they won't get the equivalent of Gasol/Bynum. I'd talk to the Clippers. See If I could get a first round pick, Eric Bledsoe, and DeAndre Jordan. That's not better than a combo of Gasol and Bynum. Quite frankly, I doubt the Lakers would be willing to part with both. I think it is. Paul Gasol is on the downside of his career, Andrew Bynum is what he is. Everyone thinks there is this other level he can get to. I just don't see it. Maybe my hatred of the Lakers is blinding me here.
  14. Since Tim Wilken took over as scouting director in December of 2005 our top picks have been: 2006: Tyler Colvin 2007: Josh Vitters 2008: Andrew Cashner 2009: Brett Jackson 2010: Hayden Simpson Two of those have reached the majors, one is generally considered our top prospect (Jackson), one is still ranked in the top 5 of the Cubs' system (Vitters) and one has been slowed by illnesses and it's still far too early to tell (Simpson). Opinions on these guys vary, but to call them "terrible" is a bit of an overstatement. At what point do you write off Vitters? He's been pretty bad as far as I can tell. Hayden who is in low A has been pretty bad so far. Cashner shows some promise if he can stay healthy and Colvin is quickly burying himself as any kind of a prospect. Brett Jackson maybe the one lone ray of hope in that list. I gotta start avoiding these threads everyone left here is drinking the blue koolaid. Good luck with your delusions of grandeur I'll just stick to reading post in the minor league forums for news that's about all these forums are good for these days. You seriously de-value Cashner if you're saying the bolded. Regarding Hayden, I don't know that a 4.15 ERA is pretty bad. And he's only had 26 innings, it seems far too early to write him off. Simpson has had long enough. Put a bullet in him.

  16. Probably not - the teams that want Howard aren't going to trade their good players. I gotta think you could get a better deal from the Clippers. DeAndre Jordan and some parts. If the Clippers really want to get Howard they need to trade for him. Although maybe they don't and it's all just Bill Simmons pining for him.
  17. The Mavs need to get their bottom 5 guys in to this game.
  18. After Game 3, the LA media already turned to trading Bynum and Gasol for Dwight Howard. I wouldn't be surprised if that's a hot rumor all summer. I don't think this team has another serious run in them. Kobe's only going to be a year older and yeah, he was banged up, but he's clearly declining as a player. And Bynum was about as healthy as they could have hoped and only missed a couple games after recovering from the injury he suffered last year. Plus Phil is leaving so who knows who the coach is going to be next year. That's the best offer that the Magic are going to get for Dwight, I'd have to assume. I could see that being a realistic possibility in the summer. It's going to be a very interesting offseason for the Lakers. I don't know if the Lakers will be willing to package the both of them but if the Magic get that, they have to take it. Figures the Lakers will seamlessly move on to the next era. I have to think you can get better than a charmin soft power forward and an always injured center for Dwight Howard.
  19. And we won a good division 4 times during the 2000s
  20. I don't think Coleman pitched any different in the 7th than in the other 6. He gave up a walk on a close pitch and then gave up a bloop single. Sorry mean to say, Quade is terrible at not knowing when he needs to go to the actual strength of the team the 7, 8, 9 guys when he has a lead.
  21. Quade is terrible at knowing when his pitcher is done.
  22. I don't get how getting Teabagged on the regular by Duke and UNC is worth leaving Arizona?
  23. I swear it seemed they both wanted to cry after the Dewitt HR. It makes zero sense that so many people would have so much hate for a team with our history. But, here we are.
