  1. Like Theo [expletive] Epstein cares if that tool is happy.
  2. True. He was good enough to get a 500K bonus, but there's not enough info about him out there for me to put him in the top 10. Then again, I haven't made my list yet. Theo should magic touch this guy into the next Chipper Jones. Or possibly even more badass...a switch hitting Wade Boggs. I'm just going to throw out names of really good 3B. The DSL Cub I'm irrationally high on is CF Jeffrey Baez. I wish that guy switch hit. I'd love for him to do well just for the confusion it would cause with two J. Baezs in the same system.
  3. I thought immediately of Doug Glanville.
  4. There's always an excuse ready for when they get beat. The balls in Cincy aren't right, The other team is stealing signs no way could Sammy hit Matt Morris if not, the Dodgers fans were waving white towels and Holliday couldn't see them, they cant see at a certain time of day and mean baseball keeps making them play games then during the playoffs, now they can't see in the Rangers bullpen.
  5. I'm very high on him but I can't get irrational about it yet because of where he did it. There was a catcher with the White Sox a few years ago...Hernandez or something...who posted outstanding numbers in the DSL or GCL one of the two...great K:BB that was walk heavy...right around Candelario's age...I was like holy [expletive] I'm getting in on the ground floor on this guy...out of baseball by 2008. Oh I'm aware but that's the same thing on anyone who isn't a first rounder to be honest.
  6. I saw this and looked up Gates' stats from past seasons. His 05 season was really good, 89 rec, 1101 yds, 10 tds. And I also didn't realize how ridiculous his season was last year, he only played 10 games but had 50 rec, 782 yds, 10 tds and 15.7 ypc his numbers last season would have been unreal if he played a full 16 games. And he's on pace to beat all those numbers. Just ridiculous. Not that it matters, the NFL is on juice right now. Like baseball homer numbers in the late 90s-early 00s. Just too much offense.
  7. I'm up against Saints D, Sproles, Colston. Luckily I have a Saint going, Devery Henderson, doh.
  8. The Saints are pretty classless, way to bring the heat on that last punt. You're only up 50 plus.
  9. Have to go for it here.
  10. Compared to the Red Sox/ Yankees? Of course not. To the teams themselves? Of course it is. If one can keep the other out of the playoffs they're going to pounce all over it. Either way this blows, the Cardinals shouldn't be in the playoffs, let alone champions.
  11. I guess I just don't think that the phillies braves rivalry is that big of a deal.
  12. Yes, but that rivalry isn't the same as the Phillies Braves. I think that looking at the histories ofmthe two teams and how they are playing is important. The Braves find ways to lose in the playoffs, the Cardinals generally do not.
  13. It only makes sense to let the team in that has sucked for a month and is missing key components to injuries as opposed to the one that has been hot. If the decision was based on their "rivalry," then Manuel really is an idiot. Oh, come on. If a team can keep a division rival out that's what they're going to play for. "Hot" teams stumble all the time in the playoffs, just like everyone else, so it's ridiculous to expect teams to act like the people here who just assume the Cardinals always win. The Braves made the playoffs 15 years in a row and won 1 title. For that reason alone I would have rather had them in than the Cardinals were I the Phillies. The Braves find ways to choke every year. So the logic behind this is you think the Phillies should have gone, "hey, division rivals, we're going to let you in because you've been bad the last month and the Cardinals have been good, nevermind in the short series "hot" teams get the boot all the damn time. Plus they're the Cardinals and EVERYTHING goes their way because of magic or unholy luck or whatever and, because, y'know"? I would have tried to keep the best offense in the NL out and the best player in baseball.

  15. It is [expletive] how hot the Cardinals are right now. Charlie Manuel is a moron for playing that last series of the year so hard.
  16. I didn't think Holliday had that kind of arm.
  17. I don't believe that, but fine. I'll stop. I don't think it's a big deal that the Cardinals drink and drive on the regular, no one gets hurt. Well except for Josh Hancock, but he wasn't all that good anyways. No harm done.
  18. I'm discussing the game, and not trolling. If you can post on our board and be (somewhat) reasonable while doing so, I can do the same on yours. And no one there ever called you such a name. If we were in the World Series I wouldn't be on your board. The fact you are here now telling us a huge blown call didn't really matter is clearly trolling. If I did the same I should be called an ass clown.
  19. No way to know what would have happened. Sorry. If LaRussa doesn't take Lohse out right this instant, STL won't be leading for much longer. No worries. You're an ass clown, posting on a cub board during a cardinal world series game, trying to tell us a huge call going your way which lead to 4 runs didn't really matter.
  20. Lol yeah, just the difference between 4 runs and 1, no big deal.
  21. He is. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/umpires/bio.jsp?id=2605 So Jim Joyce can't ump games with Gallaragas team in it because they wrote a book together, but a guy from the Lou can ump world series games with the Cardinals in it. Good call Bud.
  22. Best offense in baseball and they haven't hit at all this series.
  23. Wake up career minor leaguer, wake up.
  24. Best Cubs move since trading for Mordecai Brown.
  25. I'm irrationally very high on Candelario. Probably way too much, but I'm not sure why others aren't higher. Is it just about not showing enough yet? Or are there other concerns?
