Yep probably, but I wonder if people thought the same about Steve Nash before he got a real shot in Dallas. Lin was an undrafted free agent who was let go by 2 teams for nothing. Nash was the 15th overall pick who was traded 2 years later for that year's 19th pick, plus the next year's draft pick from a team who just finished the season 20-62. ETA: Pat Garrity was in a lot of huge trades. September 25, 1997: As part of a 3-team trade, traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers (as a 1998 1st round draft pick) with Terrell Brandon and Tyrone Hill to the Milwaukee Bucks; the Milwaukee Bucks traded Sherman Douglas to the Cleveland Cavaliers; the Milwaukee Bucks traded Vin Baker to the Seattle SuperSonics; and the Seattle SuperSonics traded Shawn Kemp to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
June 24, 1998: Traded by the Dallas Mavericks with Martin Muursepp, Bubba Wells and a 1999 1st round draft pick (Shawn Marion) to the Phoenix Suns for Steve Nash.
June 24, 1998: Traded by the Milwaukee Bucks with Dirk Nowitzki to the Dallas Mavericks for Robert Traylor.
August 5, 1999: Traded by the Phoenix Suns with Danny Manning, a 2001 1st round draft pick (Jason Collins) and a 2002 1st round draft pick (Amare Stoudemire) to the Orlando Magic for Anfernee Hardaway. Yeah he isn't going to be as good as Steve Nash, but they don't need him to be. They just need him to not be awful.
