Is that how it works? Any salary earned as a coach is deducted from the buyout? Depends on the contract, but from what I've read that is the case with Webers contract.

Yep, plus I think we went cheap on football hire because Thomas knows what we are. There is money to be spent. Hopefully Smart want the job.

Illinois won't be on the hook for all of Webers salary is my bet. He's not gonna sit at home and retire. He won't work for TV, have you heard his voice? I bet he's back at a mid major quickly.

He's not choosing which school to jump to though, inertia isn't a trivial thing if the difference isn't huge. Personally, I hope Buzz goes there because he's a tool and consolidating my distaste for him and Illinois would be a nice efficiency. :roll:

I doubt it, probably will be a replay of the other night - Illini hang in there, Michigan starts getting a bunch calls, their coach, who actually has an active brain cell, realizes this and has everything going to the hoop - game over. I'm still pissed about the other night, when the officiating was called in such a manner, you've got to be just as aggressive and force them to make calls. It's a way of exposing one way officiating I think. I know they jump shoot well at IU, so you don't want to go to a 2-3 zone. I prolly would have tried a 1-3-1 to prevent them from driving, if only Bruce didn't have that fear of telling Gene why he played a zone.

Our roster is so loaded. Other teams have no idea how good Shaw and Henry are. Just like Leonard and Bertrand last year, they're freshman. Bruce doesn't do freshman unless he has to.

I mean I get what they are saying, it isn't an elite program. I would argue it's an elite job though. Prior to Weber our coaches parlayed this job into the Kansas job and a pro job. It's very close to Chicago and has a rabid fan base.

Trying to help the Bulls get the #1 pick in 4 years. I don't think they can get it out of the protected zone by then either. What happens if they contract that team? Stern isn't going to contract Michael Jordans team. He also wanted a team in Charlotte bad enough to give it two tries.
