i hope weber can save his job by making a sweet 16 or deeper run. i'm actively rooting for him now, because it's either we do really really well in the postseason, or we get a new coach. either would be wins in my book. I'm sorry, I'm not. One fluke run shouldn't prolong what needs to happen. But, I'd still enjoy the hell out of it.

Let's talk about Purdue great Charles "Stretch" Murphy from the '30s when they were dominating the Big Ten. Murphy was one of the game's first true big men. At 6'6" (1.98 m), he was an insurmountable force on both ends of the court. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1960 and the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 1963. Yep I know that game is the same as what is being played now. I also know he's harder than Deron Williams. On account of being dead for over 30 years.

Well if you want to go back to the beginning of the sport, then Illinois magically becomes the third best football team in the Big Ten. Does that really seem like a sensible argument to you? Same reasoning applies to basketball. Not at all. Why don't modern running backs want to come to us. We had Red Grange. He's better than anyone not named Willie Heston. Hell he might be better than him, let me ask Grantland Rice and Fielding Yost. Crap appears they are dead.

And, IIRC, have had far more NBA'ers over the last 20 or so years... How many NBA players did they have in the 40s tough guy? Rick Mount once tortured a kid in order to prove how hard he was. It was his son though. And by tortured, I mean sent him to play for Gene Keady.

One of those guys is better than the other 6 put together. Who might that be? Williams got Jerry Sloan fired and is currently the most awesome player on one of the worst teams in the NBA. Sounds like he fits right in with your current crop of STUDS. Right, if you believe Karl Malone which no one does even the jazz owner. Also Sloan quit wasn't fired. Oh and Deron has been in the playoffs almost every year of his career and won a gold medal. He also has Dwight Howard begging to play with him. But as factual as you DJ Byrd was a four star claim I guess. Maybe Meyers can join him on the all soft team next year. Yeah Deron wasn't hard enough to play for Purdue. Or he didn't know they had a school cause he was a fan of the tournament. One or the other.
