  1. He still showed no signs of being this type of player, but just became it. I guess he decided to become elite. I think it's safe to say this is probably his career year. If Posey wasn't having his year, I'd say he has a good shot at MVP. Not going to happen though. Thank god that won't happen. I'd hate to see Yadi freaking Molina win an MVP. Depends on how much the writers hold a grudge against Braun. Posey is my prediction, even though I think Yadi fits the description of MVP more. How, in that he's a cardinal? Your lineup is loaded. Posey I clearly the best hitter on his team and a damn good catcher to boot. As for Braun, I can't see that happening again.

  4. Yeah, about 5 years ago. This is his 3 year slash line: .3053/.3489/.4653 The 'third year', his OPS was .671. His OPS+ was never above 100 before last season. He makes sense though, we should probably grab Dioneer Navarro up for next year. He's also due to start mashing.
  5. Yeah, about 5 years ago. This is his 3 year slash line: .3053/.3489/.4653 How many years was he an over .900 ops? How many over .800? Edit, I guess he has come back to earth some he's sub .900 now.
  6. It's getting really annoying. I can't believe that he turned out like this and Geo turned out like he did.
  7. Yadi Molina just decided to become an elite hitter it seems.
  8. Yeah I can't see the cardinals not making it in. They'd really have to suck it up for the next week and a half.
  9. Exhibit A why you don't always have to go to the elite school. He would have been fine had he stayed at Texas A&M.
  10. Jeez. Man up and realize that that franchise isn't even on our level and thinks about it every single day. They're all LOOK AT ME because they're the neglected red-headed step child. It's just annoying. Here's as basic as I can make it: it's infinitely preferable for nearly any other team to win besides the White Sox. Seeing as there's absolutely zero upside to them winning, I see no reason to be dissuaded from this. Big upside = it's not the Cardinals. Cardinals winning is infinitely more annoying than the White Sox. The Sox are just crying out because the don't get attention, but when St. Louis wins it's another opportunity for them to remind us how vastly superior they are and have been to us, and THAT gets on my nerves. I can't stand St. Louis, their fans are some of the dumbest in the league too. Last year, I was telling a fan of the Cardinals in one of my classes how they wouldn't win the World Series (this was during the playoffs), and they responded by saying that they were too good not to win because they had Skip Schumaker and Ryan Theriot. Then when they won, they acted as if they were genius and right all along. Please no more of that. It evens out though since the majority of their fans still have to live in St. Louis.
  11. Going by his offer sheet, I would hope not. Looks like Groce is gonna go after the big boys or fail trying. I am OK with this course of action. Tyler Griffey's/Bill Cole's are pretty much the exact type of player I don't want to see at Illinois anymore. On that note... Xavier Rathan-Mayes is apparently visiting UI this weekend... If we land him I'm calling him XRM. That is way to much name for me to remember.
  12. How good are these guys? DJack is going to be a McDAAs, fwiw.
  13. because the former staff thought jalen james was a better player. lol That's pretty scary. I really hope the rumors about DJ are true also.
  14. Groce is a pretty solid recruiter. We weren't even on Nunn's radar 5 months ago.
  15. Per Klee on twitter Nunn is a done deal. We need DJ to decide before he sees Self again.
  16. #daploma
  17. As a kid who grew up going to Meinen field I hate this move. I understand it, but still hate it.
  18. We just gave them a rob macowiak weekend. Sorry Jake.
  19. I hope you are right, but Dayton Moore is terrible at his job. I doubt Duffy is ready for the first part of the year either, at least at the big league level.
  20. WIth the lack of pitching the Royals have, I doubt they non tender Luke Hochevar.
  21. Do other GMs still think that Barney can play shortstop? If so that's a start, obviously you are going to have to add something very good in to pry a young pitcher away though.
  22. That's horrifying. This is why I can't get into football. I know you can get hurt in any sport, but the risk is so high in football.
  23. Don't most teams turn over their top 5 regularly though? I mean through trades, regression, and promotions I doubt this is all that rare.
  24. top 5 at a position is a loose definition of superstar, IMO Really? What do you guys use? Just curious. I just don't think it is at all realistic to lump all hitters together and choose your superstars. superstars are few and far between for me... arbitrary number but maybe top 5, 10 at most, most valuable players in the game. Oh wow, I'm ok with that. But, if that's the criteria it is crazy to assume anyone will have multiple superstars on the same team.
  25. The royals problem is Dayton Moore. Wil Myers is in AAA while Jeff Francouer plays everyday.
