  1. Any doubt Fuentes goes lights out now?
  2. FFS did baseball just finish their rounds of testing or what?
  3. There should be a book compiled of all the Baseball-Reference pages of Cardinals' players that make no sense whatsoever. My favorite is Greg Jefferies.
  4. Gotta get ready for their playoff push
  5. Can someone explain to me how Yadi Molina became an elite hitter? Just decided to?
  6. Bringing him back next year is an option. I doubt we buckle.
  7. Jesus, that's horrible.
  8. Maybe you are on to something here. Sadly it won't matter now. Atlanta wouldn't offer Delgado now, IMO.
  9. We're not getting a draft pick. He doesnt understand how the system works now. I don't really either, but with the last five days of news I've learned that we aren't going to get a pick out of this. Maybe WSR will figure it out in a month or two. Yeah we aren't getting a pick for him. The best thing we could have hoped for happened, then Demp [expletive] all over it. I hope he gets booed now. Had he been straight forward like Aramis was I wouldn't be this pissed.

  11. Ryan really just wanted to help the Cubs out though, poor guy. :banghead:
  12. That doesn't paint a pretty picture for Dempster and places the blame for this debacle squarely on his shoulders. Without really knowing the details there isn't anything that Wren said that doesn't sound plausible. We don't know exactly what Dempster and Theo had agreed to however other than what Wren said which is second hand. Either way, Dempster nixed a trade that would have benefited the Cubs long term and for that he deserves to hear some crap from the fans (and FO). Death threats though? I highly doubt it and that sounds a lot like a player deflecting some of the immediate crap he thinks is coming his way. I think Eric Gordon Sr. is his PR Guy. Man, you need some new material. I think it fits this situation pretty well, he screwed up and is now inventing some death threats.

  14. Yeah I bet they are increasingly confident knowing they are the only team Dempster seems willing to go to, and knowing that the Cubs will get laughed at if they try to hold out for Zach Lee any longer. Keep him and offer him arbitration. They can have him then.
  15. Yesterday on CTL he said Dempster has every right to veto a trade and he couldn't understand why anybody was remotely upset about it. Amazing, he's right. But, Aramis did as well. Hard for Dave to understand that though, what with Aramis being too brown. He's not right. If you can't understand why somebody would be upset you're an idiot. It's a disingenuous response. We all have "the right" to do a lot of things that people would rightfully be annoyed as hell if we did them. Dempster has the right to lie to the fans and the front office about his intentions. He has the right to do it, it's in the rules. That's what I was saying. He's a dbag for doing it, but he's always seemed like one to me.

Hard for Dave to understand that though, what with Aramis being too brown. That wasn't even the dumbest thing said on the show yesterday. Some clown from Yahoo Sports said that we shouldn't be attempting to trade Dempster. We should keep him and sign him to a multi-year contract when the season is over. They were terrified of us getting Delgado back, they need less color.

  18. Pffft. That's just reasonable fan concern. Nothing wrong with that! you were complaining about the thread. Don't be a hypocrite now. If there were actual death threats, the odds that they came from a couple of the lunatics on here are rather high. I imagine they are the Eric Gordon type of death threats. As in they didn't happen.
  19. So will Kaplan treat Dempster about this like he did Aramis last year? Or let it slide this time?
  20. Hey enjoy mop up duty. We gotta get the kids some starts, it's what's best for the team going forward.
  21. We could also say we are playing for next year and thus we need his rotation spot and we'd enjoy having him stay but it would be in a bullpen role.
