  1. 13 RBI's, besides Boggs hit near the top of the lineup. Boggs had 716 more runs. That wasn't a really fair comparison. but, but...but Boggs had 3000 more AB's! We can play this game all day long but it won't get us anywhere. Dawson is a HOF'er just as much as Boggs or Ozzie Smith.
  2. fun fact. you know who has more RBI than Wade Boggs? Eric Karros. would you vote him in the hall of fame? If I had the option of having Boggs during his best season or Dawson, I'd take Dawson. But to each his own.
  3. A-freaking-MEN Hell, look at Wade Boggs even. Dawson destroys him in every category except .BA and hits. But I guess since Boggs got to the "magical 3000" (3010 hits) and played for the Red Sox, he gets in. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Boggs wasn't an outstanding player. But anyway suggesting that Dawson wasn't a dominant player of his era is fooling themselves.
  4. http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/12/27/D8M9CVDO0.html Yowza!! That'll be like Wrestlemania, the Super Bowl, and the World Series all rolled into one!!
  5. Why do you think that? They've already beaten the Eagles, who were 4-1 at the time and still had McNabb and they have also beaten the complete crap out of the Cowboys this season. The Saints got Dallas' worst game of the season. Granted, a lot of that was the Saints doing, but they won't play that poorly again (especially after the crap they laid last night). The Eagles game was close, despite the fact that the Saints got up 17-3. The Eagles became one-dimensional and were playing from behind all game. Granted, Parcells is going to be highly pissed off and want revenge for being showed up by his student, but at this point with the way the Cowboys are playing as a team, I'm wondering if his staff is even capable of handling whatever it is Parcells wants them to do. The Eagles, on the other hand, are a scary team. They are getting hot right when they need to, and Garcia is playing like a man on fire. But it would completely foolish to discount the Saints. 1st ranked offense in the NFL and tenth ranked defense, which is improving every week, giving up an average of 12.2 ppg over their last 5 games.
  6. New Orleans not only has the no.1 offense in the NFL, but the no.1 pass offense as well. The Bears are ranked ninth in the league in pass defense, and are getting progressively worse. Rattay threw for 250+ with 3td's and then Kitna threw for 280+ with 3td's in the Bears last two games. Our offense is ranked higher than your defense, and our defense is ranked higher than your offense. The cold weather is what scares the crap out of me.

  8. Wasn't it like 60 degrees? I was wearing shorts. Oh, come to think of it, maybe it was. I thought I remembered some of the guys wearing coats...probably thinking of another game. Brain fart.
  9. I think it'll come down to Bears v. Saints. Earlier in the year I would have said the Bears would win no question. However, with the Bears defense looking the way it has been lately, I'm less and less sure of that. I don't know who will win. As a Saints fan, what worries me is playing in the cold weather of Chicago, however, they played very well against the Giants in the cold last weekend. Regardless, whoever wins, Saints of Bears, is probably gonna get their ass handed to them by the Ravens or Chargers.
  10. Tucker was talking about Stewart's softball questions to Kerry as proof that he's a left-wing operative, but didn't give a control for his hypothesis. Stewart never really asks difficult questions of any of his guests, Republicans or Democrats.
  11. Wow. That was great. Thank you for posting that and Jon Stewart is the man. I've always been a fan of his and this makes me that much more of a fan. For some reason, even as much as I love Jon, that always rubbed me the wrong way. I'm certainly not a fan of Begala or Tucker, and never watched Crossfire, but I didn't think it was very cool of him to be invited onto a show and then proceed to, with all seriousness, bash the show and call one of the hosts a jerk. In Stewart's defense, he didn't up the smugness until Tucker started mocking his Kerry interview.
  12. Naw, if they went to Ole Miss they'd have beer guts and shaggy hair. It always seems that the general consensus is that southern girls are hotter than northern girls, but northern guys are better looking than southern guys. Everytime I have a gal pal who goes up north she returns talking about how hot the guys are.
  13. It's so totally unlike the Cubs to sign an aged and injury prone veteran on the downside of his career. Interesting change of direction there Cubbies.
  14. I seriously just got a cold shiver when I read that. Oh my god he is so awful.
  15. Is this because all Japanese pitchers are alike? Just like all white pitchers? Oh c'mon Tim, you know that isn't what he meant. What he meant (I assume) is that he's somewhat of a novelty because of his unorthodox pitching. Nomo had the crazy windup, and Mats has the gyroball. The difference as I see it, is that a rotation is something that can be adjusted to after a while. However, a pitch is something that, while it can be expected and looked for, can still fool you time after time. All hitters know what a curveball is, but it still fools them time after time. So, as far as unorthodoxy goes, Mats' legacy should have the one up on Nomo's.
  16. Alot of people were saying the same things about his brother. And Jones outproduced Brian last year. Could we atleast give Derosa a chance? You're back.
  17. F***ing SAINTS!!!!
  18. This is a wacky wacky day
  19. figuring in the total cost makes it 17 mil a year, for an unproven commodity. That's too much to pay IMO. I mean, 17 mil makes him the highest paid pitcher in baseball, I think. Mats is not likely to see any of that 51 million dollar posting fee. They paid the 51 million simply to negociate the contract. You can argue the posting fee was ridiculous, but the contract itself will probably turn out to be a bargin, barring injury. The contract isn't a bargain if you factor in the negotiating fee. Sure, Mats personally is only going to get 8.7 a year, but the Red Sox are basically paying 17m a year, if you factor it that way.

  21. I'd rather spend an eternity listening to them than one game listening to Gumbel
  22. LOL at the Nessie commercial. I spent a day and night at Loch Ness hanging around. Got a picture of something, but it was more than likely just a wake. Good pic though.
  23. Yes, McFadden is frighteningly good at what he does.
  24. is that sarcasm? He hit the hell out of his head.
  25. STOP talking about the BLOODY SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!
