  1. Against the Ravens defense, Deuce and Reggie had a crappy day and combined for only 27 yards rushing. YET, Drew Brees threw for 383 yards and 3td's. That hardly sounds like the running game opened up the pass in that game. and they still lost the game, you can throw for 500 yards if you lose the game, it dosent matter. Winning and losing wasn't your original point. Your point was that without Bush and Deuce they have no offense. I just proved you wrong. 27 yards rushing, yet Brees throws for nearly 400 yards with 3td's against the vaunted Ravens defense.
  2. It's DEUCE. Jesus man, if you're going to lay some smack at least spell the guys name right. Then stop typing y'all. "Y'all" is in the dictionary. "Duece" is not.
  3. It's DEUCE. Jesus man, if you're going to lay some smack at least spell the guys name right. the point still stands and pointing out i used the wrong spelling dosent change the fact that they are very ordinary outside of New Orleans Saints were 6-2 on the road this year and both Bush and Deuce averaged 3.9ypc on the road.
  4. It's DEUCE. Jesus man, if you're going to lay some smack at least spell the guys name right. And about the grass v. turf thing. You're right. Deuce and Reggie only got to the places they are because of turf. They were only both 1st round draft picks as a result of playing in domes their whole lives.

  6. In the second Carolina loss, our first stringers literally played ONE series. Second, against the Steelers we put up 31 points.
  7. So? They do have them. I'm sure the Bears wouldn't have made the playoffs without a bunch of their studs. What's the point of this conversation? my point is the Bears eventhough they havent shown it the past month have a great defense and if they stop Bush and Duece, this offense will sputter and fall apart. This is especially true if its snowing and the ground is wet and Bush cant cut back and forth Or maybe Drew Brees' QB ability spreads the field and opens up the run? Maybe Brees is the reason they are so good and not vice versa as you suggest. Regardless, it's a completely ridiculous argument for you to make because you can play that game with any NFL team.
  8. "NO OFFENSE"??? Did you know we have a quarterback who has the most passing yards in the entire NFL. Had 11 games this year with a 90+ passer rating. Has only thrown one interception in his last 7 games. We have the number one passing offense in the NFL, yet without our RB's we have "no offense?" the offense begins and ends with Bush and Mccallister, if they werent there defenses would sit on the pass You could say that about damn near any team that has a decent running back. "No Offense"...my aching ass.

  10. http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/allergies/wxdetail/60605?dayNum=2&from=weekend Weatherchannel has 0% chance of snow for Sunday during the day.
  11. So what's the current status of the secondary? Your injured players back?
  12. True in my case, but I'm not sure about others. Someone from NO told me that. He could be full of it, though. I wouldn't be surprised. The Tiger fans that I know are all Cowboys fans (no offense B)
  13. What's the story about the Bears secondary guys? Looks like y'all have been struggling lately. Over your last 4 games, not counting the Packers game, you're giving up 271 yards a game and 3 touchdowns through the air. Jaws just said a stat on PTI that the Saints have had 65 pass plays this season of 20+ yards, the most in the NFL. Why so poor lately?
  14. There was more property damage in the Mississippi coast cities than in New Orleans. New Orleans is mostly flood damage, so the houses are still there, albeit abandoned. The gulf cities on the other hand are just flat, like the pictures of Hiroshima. I had a good many friends from Biloxi and that area that lost absolutely 100% of their stuff.
  15. I've said it before, the Saints are more of a Mississippi team than a Louisiana team. Damn near everyone I know from Louisiana are Cowboys fans it seems.
  16. Really? Horn actually might play? I know his presence on the field alone causes problems, but do you think he'll be as effective not at 100%? Either way, that puts a hitch in the Bears defensive plans. Well there were several rumors coming from anonymous players that Horn wasn't as injured as the Saints front office made him out to be. Hmm, he's still missed their last 5 games, so they couldn't have been blowing it that far out of proportion. Unless they really don't want him on the field. Well, I personally don't push much stock in that theory about Joe playing possum. If anyone wants to be on the field, it's Joe, and nobody could hold him back from that except himself.

That's shady :) Wouldn't put it past Payton...he's nasty like that. Although if they were gonna do that they should have waited until game time to unleash him. Now the Bears have time to factor him into their defensive schemes.

  19. Swweeeeeeet! Joe Horn and Omar Stoutmire were just upgraded to probable at the press conference.
  20. 1) THE BIG PLAY!!! -The Redskins had 2 30+ yard passes. -The Cowboys had a 77 yard run, and 2 30+ yard passes, including a 50 yard TD bomb to Glenn. -The Giants had a 55 yard TD pass. -The Eagles had a 62 yard run and a 75 yard pass. -The 49ers had a 48 yard TD pass. -The Falcons had a 51 yard rush and a 44 yard pass. -The Bengals had a 60 yard TD pass. -The Steelers had a 76 yard run and a 3 30+ yard passes. -Tampa Bay had a 44 yard TD pass. -Earlier in the season the Eagles had a 60 yard TD pass and a 40 yard pass. -The Bucs had a 52 yard TD pass and a 34 yard run. -Panthers had a 43 yard TD run and another 31 yard run. -Packers had a 48 yard TD pass. 2) The secondary is extremely suspect. They have good moments, but overall are average or below average. McKenzie is probably the best DB we have, with Thomas being the weakest. The injury of our strong safety Stoutmire hurts us even greater. So, rest assured, y'all will most definitely get one, or two, or three big plays. I have no complaints on the offensive side of the ball.
  21. I would never actually argue that the Saints have a better defense. That would certainly be silly. The Bears D is frightening and makes me nervous. However, my original reason I pulled out defensive stats over the last half of the season is to show that the Saints D has improved and shouldn't be overlooked. They deserve respect. Yet you were implying that they did have the better defense than the Bears because the last 6 games or so statistically they have been better. I feel that the Saints defense is fresher and hotter, but overall is not better.
  22. 3.7 YPC is not decent. It's well below average. It's crap when talking about team's in the playoffs. On grass: Jones: 76 yds, 3.8ypc Benson: 41 yds, 4.2ypc I guess Jones is well below average too? I'm pretty sure Jones and Benson have more than 117 yards on grass this season. Well, that was my own calculations. Here is what the splits page says: http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/187390/splits/2006 Thomas Jones on grass fields: 68.5 yards, 3.8 ypc http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/406400/splits/2006 Cedric Benson on grass fields: 43 yds, 4.3 ypc Bears backfield on grass fields: 111.5 yds, 4.0 ypc
