  1. At least he’ll be putting the ball in play in crucial situations unlike Russell.
  2. Sure but more important is the money hasn’t run out. Boohoo the team’s breaking a sweat to the best record in the NL with these three burdens Spoken like a man whose money isn't actually being spent. I hope we get Harper, but man, that has to make them think twice when busting out a $350-$400 contract. They have no choice but for it to go right without starting to seriously hurt, unless they are just going to spend like the Dodgers and then none of it matters. Harper will be worth the investment. He’s a generational talent and he’s 25. Barring a major injury, he’ll be worth it. The Cubs channel or whatever it is going to be called will generate more than enough money to pay for him and everyone else when the time comes.
  3. All you can do is shake your head and laugh at this point about Darvish. What a joke.
  4. dropped his hands before stepping off. Once set, any movement other than the back foot stepping is committing to going home. Precisely
  5. Kyle Hendricks is running over Dusty Baker's foot with a John Deere riding lawnmower. The blood splatter from Dusty Baker's foot injury sprays onto Ryan Zimmerman, Jayson Werth, Bryce Harper, and Stephen Strasburg. okay

  7. lol. perfect description
  8. This can’t have happened but maybe once or twice in pro baseball. Holy crap.
  9. The University said LucasFilm wouldn't allow it. However, I wouldn't trust the Ole Miss admin, especially back then. Back when they decided to get rid of Col. Reb about 10 years ago, they held a fan vote among students and alumni. The choices were a black bear, a landshark, and some humanoid looking character called Hotty Toddy. Well, they never released the results of the vote publicly, but my wife was on the student committee back then and Landshark won decisively. The administration didn't care and went with the bear, which was never really embraced and so about 7 or 8 years ago they held a second vote and that was when Ackbar was nominated and won. The admin stuck with the bear claiming that LucasFilm wouldn't allow it. So we really don't know if that's true, but I suspect LucasFilm wouldn't allow it, so the admin was probably being honest about that.
  10. Schwarber is now SECOND in the NL among outfielders with a 6.3 UZR. He's sandwiched between Cain and CarGo.
  11. So Ole Miss once again has a new mascot...a Landshark. It was unveiled last weekend. Ole Miss deserves every bit of ridicule it gets. The reason it's a Landshark is because about ten years ago, Ole Miss had a LB who was an Iraq War vet named Tony Fein. When he made tackles he would do a fins up motion. It caught on among the fanbase and so players from different sports would start doing it after making big plays. Tony unfortunately took his own life a few years after he left Ole Miss due to PTSD stuff. Anyways, so it's "Tony the Landshark". It's too bad they weren't able to go with Admiral Ackbar, which won the student vote several years ago. LucasFilm wouldn't allow it though.

  13. That's one of the greatest things I've ever seen
