  1. I'd rather just stick with Pie. They look to be similar players except it seems that Pie has more power and is younger.
  2. Cintron? If the Cubs need a clubhouse attendant they can just hire Roast.
  3. AHAHAAh 2004 A: .292/.352/.471, 114 OPS+, .280 EqA B: .286/.375/.512, 131 OPS+, .300 Eqa 2005 A: .309/.389/.450, 125, .293 B: .321/.421/.610, 173, .338 2006 A: .343/.417/.483, 132, .307 B: .290/.392/.523, 134, .301 2007 A: .322/.388/.452, 121, .285 B: .314/.422/.645, 177, .339 Going to go with player B in all of those years. 2006 is close though.
  4. Yes, but that doesn't matter. He's a team player, you see.
  5. HAHA, that's the dumbest argument ever that people make. Ken Griffey, Jr. never won or even played in a World Series, so does that mean that Lenny Harris, who HAS a World Series ring, is better than Junior?

  7.
  8. Yes, I agree with this as well. Several reasons: 1) It'd create a natural interdivision rivalry between the Rangers and Astros. 2) It'd cut down on travel, which is something that the Rangers always gripe about. 3) The Astros are not a "historic" NL franchise, and have only existed for 45 years or so. (I understand this argument easily applies to the Brewers, since they were an AL team for most of their existence.)
  9. Yeah, but there's a giant water feature just beyond the outfield wall. Kaufmann Stadium is actually a nice place to watch a game.
  10. The Royals are just a pathetic organization. They've only had 2 winning records in the past 15 years.
  11. Yeti with a trident and net vs. an Orangutan with a ball and chain.
  12. If I remember correctly, Meph thought that Manny would have to hit 600 HR to make up for his defense. Regardless of his defense, Manny is a first ballot HOFer. I know he's not the greatest defender, but he plays well in Boston. He plays in Boston and has won two championships with them after they hadn't won it in 85 years and should have well over 500 HR before he's done. To me he's as much of a lock as they come. Teddy Ballgame wasn't known for defense either.
  13. Wouldn't doubt it regarding Pujols....but A-Rod just seems like a once in a generation type of player.
  14. No one has mentioned yet that this means Bonds might be going to prison for perjury now.
  15. Wow. There's no reason to be a jerk. Meph has stats coming out his ass for just about every baseball player on the planet, so I asked him because I was curious if he knew of anyone who had a higher EqA than Pujols. I asked him about what the stats say. You've been on this board long enough to know that I'm as opinionated as they come, and my opinion is that Pujols is the best hitter now. Zup? http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/9864/tedrookie2ce6.jpg
  16. I don't know, maybe Meph can help us out here. He seems keen on EqA as the best way to measure a hitter, and Ramirez is at .317 for his career, Arod at .312 and Pujols at .338. Meph is there anyone out there that you know of that has more value than Pujols at the plate over the past 10 years or so?
  17. So with the Bonds and Clemens steroid thing, who now are the greatest pitcher and hitter of our generation (assuming they are clean). I'd definitely say Maddux for pitcher. Hitter....Pujols, Arod?
  18. That would be awesome.
  19. Worst part about that picture is that Rob Bowen is in it. I bet CT could have hit for a better average than Bowen did when he was with us.
  20. That's still legal in Louisiana I think.
  21. That's OUTSTANDING! Also, I just wanted to add that I don't think Roger Clemens is an intelligent person. Obviously that's not a prerequisite for playing baseball...but he just doesn't seem like a smart person.
  22. Meph are you not going to fix that sentence?
  23. I know this meanings "nothing", but his head looks ENORMOUS.
