  1. I was looking at Raul Ibanez's stats, and he has surely been one of the best bargains in baseball the past few years. The past four seasons he's earned an average of 4.5 million a year, despite averaging .288/.354/.478, 121 OPS+, 24 HR, and 107 RBI on mostly crummy teams.
  2. My life is now complete. Your 1908 World Champion Cubs: http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/cubs.jpg

  4. Baseball scientist Perry Husband recently did a pretty cool analysis of several of the clips that exist of Babe Ruth hitting a home run. He analyzes the degrees of his swing, his particular hitch he had, etc. Very cool stuff I think. The Babe videos are about halfway down on the right side of this page: http://www.hittingisaguess.com/LeverageWedges.html
  5. that game was the battle of most obnoxious college football fans.
  6. only the tigers. only the motherfreaking horseshoe up their ass for the past decade tigers.
  7. Someone needs to put dew on the suicide watch list this week along with frostywrm. Tennessee lost to Wyoming. :-))
  8. I can't tell if that was tongue-in-cheek, but Gallagher was also in that deal, and probably the centerpiece of it. Still though... totally worth it Yeah I forgot about that, but yes I agree, still totally worth it.
  9. If this were to happen then damn, has any team in recent memory pulled off better trades than the Cubs? Jose Hernandez and Bobby Hill for Rammy, Choi for Lee, Murt and E-Patt for Harden.
  10. No way I'd drop Colston. Brees is having an MVP type year. Now that Colston is healthy, they should be hooking up like crazy.
  11. That pic freaks me out. AJ alphabet is the guy in the middle right? No, AJ ran off like a bitch, that's him on the far right skulking away. Barrett is fighting Podsednik in this shot.
  12. Last I checked, the Padres play in a pitcher's park too. 92 ERA+ for a career. Yuck.
  13. Olsen is way overrated. How much does playing in a pitcher's park help him?
  14. He'll learn how to switch hit? he'll learn how to pitch too.
  15. He said Rich Hill ....actually I don't know, just wishful thinking.
  16. The Braves are in a rebuilding phase right now. They were 20 games back last year. If he wants to come to a place where a sub 3 ERA won't net you a losing record in 30 starts, then come to Chicago Jake!
  17. now i'm dumb
  18. Derek Anderson is out of the job. Dolphins were idiots for passing on Quinn. He's got some talent.
  19. Most folks have Johnson and Grove #1 and #2 all time. However, when Pedro's career is over, he'll certainly be in the mix. His lack of consistent durability hurts his career value a little bit.
  20. Oh great. Holliday will turn into Mickey Mantle if he goes to the Cardinals.
  21. Yeah, you put up a career 154 ERA+ over 2700 innings and you are pretty much the best pitcher of all time.
  22. Easily Braves. Even now, despite having watched him for so many years with the Cubs, both before and after the Braves, whenever I think of Greg Maddux in my head, he's in a Braves uniform.
  23. Glaus was pretty damn good at third this year.
