Raw is right, the chiefs are in a delicate spot here. I mean, had Rae Carruth shot himself would they have had helmet stickers for him? I doubt it. This guy was a murderer. I say no helmet stickers. No remembrances. A moment of silence for a "tragedy in the Chiefs family" seems appropriate.
truth I mean, we had a freaking Babe Ruth on OUR TEAM for half a decade. but hey, let's just forget all that because he played his music loud or whatever.
Just read on Gruden's wiki that he was a grad assistant for two years at Tenn and his wife is a Tennessee grad and Tenn is her home state. So I guess it wouldn't be completely out of the blue.
So yeah, Southern Miss ended up 0-12 after going 12-2 and winning Conference USA last year. Only winless team in FBS. Also, Ole Miss was one of the worst teams in the country last year at 2-10 and this year ended up 6-6. They very easily could have been 9-3 with a 3 point loss to Texas A&M, 1 point loss to Vandy, and 6 point loss to LSU. Rebels getting a lot better under Hugh Freeze. Excited for the future.
Is that the kid that was previously committed to Clemson? Correct, Robert Nkemdiche. His brother Denzel, a RS Freshman safety/linebacker, is quickly becoming an All-SEC type defensive stud. Their mother is in the Nigerian Congress and has made it very, very obvious that she doesn't want to fly home and have to split games between her sons. Robert has been to like 7 Ole Miss games and since his decommit from Clemson is considered by most writers to be a silent verbal to the Rebels.
Gruden isn't going to be a college coach. As far as Ole Miss goes, Hugh Freeze should win SEC Coach of the Year for what he has done with the Rebels in a single year. They are only 5-6 but should have/very easily could have wins against LSU (lost by 6 thanks to a 4th quarter punt return TD) and A&M (lost by 3). What is most startling is to look at how bad Ole Miss was last year compared to this year under Freeze. Keep in mind Ole Miss still has a game to go this season. Points Scored 2011: 193 2012: 330 PPG 2011: 16.1 2012: 30.0 Yards 2011: 3375 2012: 4595 Sack 2011: 13 2012: 30
I'm a pretty big SEC wonk but I don't think BAMA would crush ND. Probably be a good game. Bama hasn't impressed me that much this year and is definitely one of the weaker SEC title contending teams in recent years.
losing to Vandy is often a death knell for a coach although Vandy has gotten much, much better under Franklin. If I was his agent I'd be trying to get the hell outta there right now because his stock will never be higher.
